I deal with prices like this all the time.
And I totally understand why this is so much money. Since it's an articulated figure with joints and multiple accessories, head sculpts and crafted suit and cape (as opposed to sculpted stuff), it's no surprise at the price.

Welcome to the big leagues 1/6 collectors :)

I have Babydoll PF 1/4th scale for $350 on order and the HUGE Rhino Comiquette 1/4 for $400 :dunno
Yeah, I've got several 1/4 scale statues, and a few more on order, and none of them were over $400. The only one that actually was $400 was the new Batman PF. Not that I'm surprised the price is this high, it's just a bit higher than the standard PF price.

I'm not getting into these 1/4 editions. As nice as they are, I've got too much invested in my 1/6 collection to add this to it. It's nice though.

For those scared at the price....welcome to 1/4 scale statues, maquettes and now figures LOL :rotfl

But I guarantee you , you will have one hell of a WOW factor piece in your collection among the little guys.

And people, although the sculpt and cowl need to be adjusted a bit, for me it doesn't have to look 100% perfection like BALE under the cowl. It's still DAMN cool and it's still BATMAN after all. Still looks amazing...for a 1/4 scale figure.

Nope, not going to do it. I've already got two Bale Batmans and just ordered the TDKR one the other day. It's overkill.

I'll stick with 1/6 figures and LotRs PFs. That's good enough for me. Congrats to those who ordered this.

Sideshow's additional NA Distribution profit is what is jacking the price of Hot Toys stuff up even further. Hot Toys already said it'll be $380-$400 USD in Hong Kong. This private is insulting.

Gonna have to pass at $465 (plus shipping & NRD).

This should be a tad bit cheaper ordering through BBTS right?
I do kinda want that empty cowl exclusive though!

Look at it this way, do you really need his empty cowl hanging on the base when you have your choice of several bad guys' masks?

I really think that's the main problem with the US prices. I know costs go up, but not this much.

Yep. Hot Toys has been raising their prices, no doubt. But the biggest different started after Sideshow became sole official NA Distributor for all of their products. Not a coincidence that the prices started shooting way up right after that. And the other US retailers (who have to buy the products from Sideshow) continually sell them for less, which is alone proof that Sideshow has huge profit margins added onto these things.

Time to start looking for a friend in HK. This has long since gotten ridiculous.

Why does he even have all the villain masks anyway? Just seems like added on crap so they can bump the price up. Nearly 500 bucks for a batman figure with the smirk of a sex offender:lol

Anyway I'm glad as this seals my decision to go for EB bats:yess:

But NRD isn't added on top of the $465. And if you factor in Rewards Points, this figure is actually around $442. Not that I'm defending SSC or HT. The price is over the top, for sure.

Another thing to consider is customer support. If you buy outside of SSC and, say, the abs start leaking 6 months down the road. Chances are. . .that Hot Toys and Sideshow will both refuse to help you out. BUT, if HT are going to help you at all, it will only be if you order through an official distributer (SSC in the U.S.). Sideshow apparently only stands by their products or those they distribute for the first 30 days now, so I wouldn't bet on appealing to them here.
