MMM. I know where MaulFan is coming from.... while toned, her body fat was way to low in T2 making her appear sickly to me as well (madonna has the same sickly look) maybe they needed a tan or I just don't like the thin toned look 
. While I do have some issues with the figure, for me it'll do for a Sarah in my collection, it'll most likely have the sunnies on, cigarette in one hand & gun in the other pose, & will go well with uncle Bob.....ordered!

Ah, I see. Sorry, some details are missed when one is skimming a thread.
Linda Hamilton had a remarkably low body fat percentage during T2 and she gained about 20 pounds of muscle (if I remember that number right). That combination made those muscles stand out. Very impressive for an actress then and perhaps even now. I think using the words 'sickly' and 'anorexic' is a bit exaggerated. I think sinewy is a better term.
It's a small accessory and I'm guessing maybe they already had a hand like the cigarette hand, but I still can't believe they included that 
For all the times HT misses accessories that would be key for a figure, they make sure to include a cigarette and cigarette holding hand for Sarah who smokes all of twice in the hole movie and for hardly any screen time, and it's not a trademark for Linda Hamilton. I figured they did it with Dutch because Arnie loves his cigars.

That's the best shot I've seen.
On the assumption that that pic is really newly polished, why the hell did they reveal and pre-order this just to immediately show us a newer head a day later? Why not just wait a week, and give us the most updated pics?
Wow, though, even her neck has freckles.

Going by those photos, Sideshow has 2 pics of the new head and the rest the old one. One good thing, the hair's all a consistent color now.

where did these pics come from?
The biggest difference for me is the lack of the bags under her eyes now. I definately like the "newly polished" headsculpt better, although both are good.
I don't think the bags are gone, I can still see the lines, I think it's the extra lighting helping to hide them, the first portrait shots are more dramatically lit. Be interesting to see Tommy Richardson photos of this portrait.
