3a's movie optimus may be the same too...Im also waiting to see.
But from the reviews ive watched, HT Optimus looks by far the lightest and most hollow and wobblely.
You can really tell when being handled, how light he is.

Also I should mention that the threezero robots mentioned cost less than Optimus and have more accessories, more lights, more mixed media materials and are much much larger than HT prime.
Titan fall Atlas makes OP look Tiny in comparison and has like 10,000 times more engineering and paint apps and parts.
In all...HT Optimus seems way overpriced for what it is.
Dam cause I still want him

If you compare it to MP-01 it is indeed much lighter, but MUCH more poseable. I had the same reaction when I got the MP-10 Prime, it was light, plastic-y and felt cheap. But it also is more poseable. If you want metal, I think you need to stick to Chogokins these days and even they are getting lighter.

Don't know how much more clear I can be, he looks good sitting in the box, does not "feel" right while posing, at least not what I'd expect. the paint/weathering on the darker looks much better on mine than on the red parts, and yes, hes repacked and ready to go back to Sideshow, the company that lets you send items back for not being happy with them, like most businesses in the US.

Thanks for the witty sarcasm. It's very much appreciated after reading a few of your posts.

Does the Titan fall Atlus feel cheap? I wasn't aware that it was that lightweight.

Actually no he does not. Although he uses the same plastic as the others....there is just soooooo much of it.
He is worth every penny and actually more.
I own a lot of figures.....Atlas is the benchmark for priced paid vs what you get.
His weight is just the amount of parts he has.
His engineering is without equal. And in fact in a comparison with OP, if Atlas is $400, Optimus should be a little more than half.
So either Atlas is a steal, or OP is way overpriced

And this guy is the biggest in my collection. ...heavy and cost $200...go figure

Hearing some bad reviews so far, I really like this figure but not hearing good things about it.

You won't see a bad review from me, and I am a very hardcore Transformer collector. I own all the Masterpiece figures, a large G1 collection, Binaltech, and various modern series. Plus I collect Soul of Chogokin (metal super robots) and most Marvel and DC Hot Toys.

This HTs Prime is a poseable statue. It holds all poses well, and is quite stable (and I don't use a stand). I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this stands better than almost every other Hot Toys in my collection. Very stable.

The figure is very top heavy, so if it does fall over you can see things flop around a little. The paint and finish is stylized and well done.

My biggest complaint with this figure would be with the Starscream wings and how they attach. I suspect they will sag over time due to the soft rubber where they attach.

I honestly can't see how there can be any other complaints. It poses well, it's stable, and it looks great in my collection as a wonderful statue that I can pose. Would I prefer that it be of Soul of Chogokin quality and metal content? Sure. But they couldn't have matched the paint. Plus, you would be in the $600+ price range. (Go price the Soul of Chogokin Mazinger Z DX for a similarly sized figure to HT Prime.)

I guess I would say that this does make a bad toy and would be floppy and annoying if that is your goal. But so is MP-01, Masterpiece Megatron, etc.

I would give this Optimus Prime a 4 out of 5, and I'm usually a really tough grader!

I'm surprised that l didn't see any 3A Metal Gear Solid figures. You seem to have a little of everything.

Btw, dusting must be a nightmare.

Opened this guy up and he absolutely gorgeous. He catches the attention in my collection and he's probably gonna be my new centerpiece:lol

Here he is with my haul from the past 2 weeks

Thanks a bunch..
That's the 3a room. Then comes the Iron man / batman room, then pacific rim/ gundam room, Halo room, then the miscellaneous room....ah yea..I need a 3 step program...lol

Love your you tube videos btw....

Got this coming in today from SS but I don't know if I should be all that excited after reading so much negative or meh stuff. Based on how dead this thread has been I'm guessing I'm not alone.

Your not alone I was very concerned about this guy. After all the reviews and YouTube videos I will just have to judge for myself. I liked the figure I bought the figure.

Although i agree that the price is a little bit expensive ( but it seems as of late all hot toys are getting that way ) I don't see what the big deal is with the couple complaints that I hear about this figure? The whole "it doesn't transform" thing is silly. This isn't meant to be a toy, it is a display statue piece. Therefore the transforming issue seems irrelevant to me. This isn't an MP10 re-creation.

Then all the nonsense of Optimus Prime never ripped off Starscream's head or destroyed Starscream is also silly! This is a stylized piece not some re-creation of an episode of a cartoon! Personally I don't see a figure that has a G1 look to it having to follow some sort of set of rules that says it has to follow a cartoon! Because a designer who came up with this piece threw in some artistic creativity and deviated from the 80s cartoon source material seems irrelevant as well.

Then hearing people complain that Optimus Prime is not violent and destructive like that and would never destroy Starscream. Guess these people never saw any of the movies when he pulled out swords and split the enemies in 2 or blew the heads off the baddies!

Whenever I read the word "piece" when referring to a TOY/DOLL really makes me LOL. Never fails.

Most TF fans expect their stuff to transform, unfortunately. I was getting this, but the end product, even though it didn't change that much, really does nothing for me once i saw it. MP-10 os enough as far as as my 11-12 inch TF toys are concerned. And at that ridiculous price? No thanks.

Also, most real TF fans don't mix G1 stuff with the abomination that was Michael Bay's OP. The real OP is not violent, FYI.

Piece. LOL.

Get it through your heads guys and gals, we collect overpriced DOLLS.

What are you talking about with MP-10 size? MP-10 is probably 9" at best.

It's *WAY* smaller than the Hot Toys figure. If you meant to say MP-01, then they are around the right height. MP-10 is half the size, and looks puny next to MP-01 or the HT.
