Nobody here works at Sideshow so no. Guessing price will be around $500-$550 if the HK price is of any indication. So anybody know when this goes up for preorder and how much it will officially cost?
I think the exclusive bonus sculpt looks pretty cool.
The EB still looks better IMO (I'm all about the HS), but the HT has a lot of good things as well namely the accessories and probably the body. Am happy for the people that get a chance to own this especially people that are: A) Late in the HT collecting game B) Never had a chance to get a Dark Knight Joker. Still think HT could have done better then this, and they should have given another person a chance to sculpt this and added rooted hair. But it is what it is... esp for some collectors, its better then sky rocketed over priced HT's and EB's or custom made figures.
I think this situation is actually close to the DX04 Enter the Dragon Bruce Lee figure. Enterbay had the better HS, and HT had better overall package including accessories, backdrops, better paint, 2 HS and bodies. The EB still looked better but both were great in there own way.
So what's wrong with it I need graphs and ****. Face shape and lips..what else?
I think he's entitled to feel a little disappointed when we've been waiting this long for HT to do a 1/4 scale Joker and they not only deliver mediocrity, but ****ing celebrate it with that stupid ass nonsensical "dual headsculpt?"
"Here at Hot Toys, we are thrilled to share with fans everywhere yet another time where Yulli makes a Joker that kinda looks like Heath Ledger, but not really, for, like, the 18th time, but hey! Hasn't she been doing a great job of making these figures of dudes who only sort of look like Heath Ledger after all this time? Could you believe that we've had her making these dudes that are kind of Dark Knight Jokers, but not really for over 10 years, now, while our company, otherwise, progresses, and improves with each new attempt? Isn't it amazing, guys? Guys? Hello?"
I've never understood the rooted hair thing. It just doesn't seem feasible to me with this character, in terms of mass production. Hell, most people who try it just as a one off utterly fail and wind up with a great sculpt looking like it has a party city wig glued to its head. It's not even the hair so much as it's the style. Chewbacca's one thing, but, if there's a way to capture that wet, greasy, stringy look that Ledger's do had in TDK on a mass scale, it's unknown to me.
This and the BB one are my fisrt HT purchases in 3-1/2 years ever since I stopped. This is Old school HT right here.

Trying to make it look like too many different scenes definitely could've hurt this. The DX11 has that same problem IMO, which was also done by Yulli.
I was really hoping for them to let Kojun have a crack at Ledger Joker, or whoever did those bang-on Letokers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Yulli sculpted all the HT Ledger Jokers so far.
Yulli's done a lot of great sculpts with uncanny likenesses, my personal favorite is the BD unhelmeted Robocop sculpt. That's all kinds of sculpting brilliance, in one release of that figure. Same with the new Tom Holland as Peter Parker sculpt, that's a great likeness for their first release featuring the actor as Spidey. However, like any artist/sculptor perhaps, she has these actors that might just be her waterloo and it's baffling that HT keeps her on every remake of that project given that they now have a huge roster of talented sculptors. Like Ledger, she's done most if not all of HT's Arnie sculpts, and the best one so far (DX13) was a collab with another sculptor.
Was wishing Lee So Young would be given a chance to sculpt Ledger for TDK's 10 anniversary, but here we go, we have one celebrating Yulli's (and JC Hong's) 10th year with HT instead. Still I think this figure so far is her best Ledger sculpt IMO, and I'm sure they'd give it some improvements.
Is it just me or does the duel head look more realistic and more like Ledger? I think it's a pretty cool idea though not at the expensive of a fully painted interrogation head.

Was messing around comparing Heath in makeup against the figure again. Again sorry for the quality. I'm having trouble finding high quality HD images of him.
I remember you mentioned why not use a 3rd party sculptor in a previous post... Well, look at Prime1... they used the great Adam Gu who is notorious for amazing Joker sculpts, I think we can all agree with that. And look what he delivered for Prime1. Sure it looks like HL but doesn't capture any of the Joker's character. Looks sleepy or like he was just told his dog died. So even with an amazing sculptor like Adam, there's no guarantee that you'll still get a super awesome sculpt.
Now, do I think it would've been cool to have a laughing sculpt like the DX11? or a smiling, yellow teeth showing sculpt? heck yea! but for me, I am in no way disappointed with this release. Overall it looks great, the tailoring looks and will be better than EB, body will more than likely be better than EB along with overall production quality. Knowing these things makes me pretty happy with this release.
I understand some disappointment but some of this as usual in a TDK Joker thread is outrageous and quote comical everyone always gets so worked up over these TDK releases more than anything I've ever seen on this or any other board
