Bit the bullet on the 1/4 QS001 Dark Knight Bats at my local comic shop a couple weeks ago for $372 after staring him down for a few months every now and then, and just PO'd Joker Ex and Begins Bats.

Has anyone here bought any of the 3rd party 1/4 Joker kits on eBay? Kinda want a second body and clothes for that Ex head. Have a feeling that people will start producing more 1/4 Joke Sculpts as well now too.

Oh boy...maybe the poor fellow who just paid $850 can get a refund by convincing the seller that he can sell it to someone else for $1000...I think he mentioned that he had not opened it yet...$372 sounds about right for this figure. Good buy!

$372 is an insane deal. That's less than what it retailed for....

I think some of you are underestimating how much the QS001 is really going for now though. Check the sold listings and what is currently listed as of late.

If Bill gets that ball out of his ass EB would be out of business. Sure, people would say that he could get other licenses, perhaps from cult classics that HT would never bother laying a finger on but I doubt they'd sell as good as their NBA figures. They made gorgeous Jack Bauer and President Palmer figures with fantastic likenesses back when 24 was still hot and HT's best Tony Stark headsculpt looked like RDJ from a manga, but they didn't sell as much as EB hoped they would. Now with NBA they turned NBA fans and even some sneakerheads into doll collectors as well, even releasing a cheaper 1/9 scale version so they could cater to more people and convert them to collectors.

Enterbay truly was the one company that threatened HT like no other, making HT spend money on licenses they won't even make figures of just so EB can't make money (or continue to make money) off of them (or won't even make more than a single figure of -- Terminator 1/4, yeah?). With NBA, EB just found the license that would keep them afloat -- and Bill's Lambo running :lol

Hell yeah, that lambo gets like 12 miles to the gallon. That's a lot of NBA dollies to sell to gas up. :lol

Agree on your points, Enterbay could have really pressed had they stayed with that Terminator endo, but did what they did to survive and adapt. I think EB had a real shot as a alt/ competition to HT which is sad about the situation. They clearly have artists that can sculpt so investing in better bodies and cloths would have gone a really long way for them.

Ha ha ha...sounds like someone else dropped $800 on one of these too...forget the "sold" prices I am having a hard time finding anyone who is even asking for that amount as of late as in tonight...but in all seriousness its your money spend it however makes you happy.

Brand new sealed double boxed ones can't sell right now for $800. The hype is driving listing prices but most are selling for far less. Let it settle a bit, and this thing will be back down to about 200 over retail for selling prices. This wave of 1/4 collectors seems to be a trend too. Every time HT releases a quarter scale folks get the impression Ht is going to go full tilt into the quarter scale and that's all they are going to collect. It's not what makes HT money. The 1/4 scale takes up more space, costs more to produce and less volume for them to sell vs. 1/6 lines. If recent trends hold they will release about 2 QS pieces a year, which really isn't that much.

Watch them double it or more with 1/4 Kylo, Vader, Storm Trooper, and hopefully the T1 T800 they teased years back.

Yeah, lack of competition could and likely will hurt the chances of this sculpt getting tweaked. I'm hoping that's not the case and they'll fix it anyways, but who knows.

Yeah I am hoping they fix it to, despite the problems EB sculpt has, at least on certain angles, it looks a lot of like Ledger as Joker.

I can't find one picture of Hot Toys Mob painted one on any angle where it looks like Ledger as the Joker.

If 1:4 were to be considered as something of a cross-section of what Hot Toys has made at 1:6 then an Arnold Schwarzenegger figure would really make a lot of sense - be it T1 or T2.

Still, I've become so accustomed to disappointment from this company that I can't even bring myself to hope anymore.

Surprised nothing has been even announced for the 3D release. Dam Toys' statue is sick. A 2017 T2 T-800 from HT would be cool.

I'm not surprised at all, that's the thing. And would they finally nail Arnie's likeness in 2017 - well, there's probably no more likelihood of it than there was a few years ago. But I'd still be fascinated to see their attempt. And you know I'd probably buy it either way.

Didn't HT already nail his likeness with the DX13? Both sculpts are superb in my eyes. Everyone who's seen them in my display is wowed by the likeness more than pretty much any other figure I own. DX10 is pretty average by comparison but looks fine with the shades on.

Not in my eyes. I see all sorts of problems with that likeness, more particularly the less battle-damaged head. I could go into it if you wanted but maybe I shouldn't here in the Joker thread :lol

Fair enough, I personally think both are spot on. You have very high standards. :lol

I do and I don't. There's certain basics that if a company gets right I might excuse or even not notice other stuff. But Hot Toys keeps getting the basics wrong with Arnie - like the shape of his head, the shape of his face and his ****ing hair :lol

You kind of stop noticing it after 2 or 3 minutes, maybe becoming aware of it again at a few points here and there. Last one I saw was Spiderman Homecoming and I don't remember being Wowed at all - by the 3D or by the film for that matter. Nevertheless I'm glad to have an opportunity to see T2 in the cinema - for me it'll be the first time.

Oh and ''love that Joker''....wait..even that's the wrong film...

I think a movie has to be designed with the intent of having it viewed in 3D for it to not lose it's effect. I remember TFA was cool in 3D because of the ships flying through space, and Doctor Strange because of the trippy visuals.

For whatever reason, Transformers: The Last Knight's 3D strained my eyes pretty bad.
