Ironically, my impression of the Imposter at the time was, "Hey, that's not bad for a first Artisan!" Now that I've seen how the DX33 turned out, I'm obviously thrilled to be getting the better version.
I think that's how a lot of us felt when the imposter version was released, I know I was pretty happy seeing how that turned out. But, as you said, this DX Artisan is definitely an improved and better version.
yah I'm also collecting the LOTR series from Inart..waiting for them to show their catwoman as well. The JND one is...more than what i want to spend.
That's sort of the thing about JND products, at least for me. I've only bought the statues of characters I absolutely love and, therefore, have been ok with spending the crazy amount I have on them.
Ss sent a delay email few weeks back.

I really hope this one comes February my wallet is done for this month especially with artisan Jack. 😬
As much as it would suck monetarily, I'd honestly be happy if this also came out fairly soon simply, so I can finally combine parts with the InArt and finally get ride of all the extra stuff I don't need from that set.
yah i would be happy with non-rooted.
Agreed. Something I like about a few of these artisan releases is that there is a sculpted and rooted option so that I can pick up the sculpted headsculpt parted out to have both juuuuuust incase something happens to the rooted version over time.

The material used for the rooted hair is supposedly wool, wool will last for decades if taken care of, basically left alone in a normal environment. I'd be more worried about the glue/product used but I've seen exhibition figures in museums etc that have looked the same for decades so I would not worry about artisan hair being the new pleather.

I can't seem to adjust his vest so that this clasp isn't sticking out like an eye sore. Anybody else having that issue? I don't know if the clasp was sewed on wrong or the fabric connecting to it isn't snug enough. I tried pulling the vest forward and folding it over to get some slack but it snaps back like this each time. I contacted Sideshow once I noticed it.

Maaaaaan, he got here today and I love him. I’m not gonna lie, I’d kind of like to track down three of those JND dogs and see if someone could make the lead pipe because I feel like those, with the InArt detonator, would make for a hell of a display. This takes me back to getting my first HT figure with the DX 01 and seeing what they’ve delivered here is so impressive to me. I’m elated that this was just fresh out of the box with some slight adjustments to his eyes, hair, and mouthpieces, shot on an iPhone:

Neat figure, great portrait. A small spot at end of his black makeup, but really no biggie. Or what would you say?

Vest is not very nice sadly, see the left pocket for e.g. or the visible clipper of top button. The buttons used for shirt are huge and quite visible form certain directions.

Oh NOOOO! The hair excellently concealed a nice red paint blemish on his cheek. Wow, how nice.
EDIT: it’s supposed to be there, as per youtubers. Nice!

I'm not usually a stickler for things like this, but this really is an eyesore and now that's all I can see in everyone's pictures of him so it's obviously not an isolated issue. Hot Toys can do better than this. It really should have been a QC issue that was fixed early on. Not sure there will be a good fix for this if the fabric isn't flexible. Hot Toys and (most definitely) Inart desperately need a good QC team looking over their figures during production. This could have been an easy fix during production.

As great as this figure looks overall, I'm thinking about canceling my Sideshow order. I can currently get my entire payment back, including the NRD. It was $591 after taxes and shipping for retail. I've paid everything but shipping and taxes.

I hope someone on here is able to get off the waitlist and get it if I cancel. I have the sculpted InArt and Artisan Imposter. Although overall not as good as this Artisan, messing with them both satisfies me enough for a Joker and I can switch headsculpts if I want rooted on the InArt.

The recent release of InArt Paul has stolen my attention, but I'm still very much looking forward to getting this in-hand. Should be charging in the next week or so -- unless Sideshow delays mine again...

I can't help but see what looks like a crack in his hairline, what is that exactly?

It looks to me that the hairline is actually sculpted -- like the roots of the wool hair are hidden behind a very small plastic ridge that's painted to camouflage the transition. I've noticed it in a few other photos, too, but it's very well done if that's actually what I'm seeing.

Everything aside from weapons and hands.
Exactly, I think the headsculpt is great but the weapons are not good. I'm assuming the weapons that came with the Imposter Joker, which I have, are the same used as this release.

I know most people don't necessarily care so much about the accessories, but the realism of the accessories that came with the two Artisan figures are very weak in comparison to other offerings.
