Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Lt. Jim Gordon S.W.A.T suit version Figure - Specs & Pic

Very surprised that neither Gordon or Angelica are at SDCC, Hot Toys have pretty much sucked up till now at SDCC. What's up with all the old figures on show? :dunno

new product not ready..or surprise in the next two days......?
Probably not....

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Lt. Jim Gordon S.W.A.T suit version Figure - Specs & Pic

Some of the spec/pics looks good, others, not so much. I can see Gordon/Oldman in some of the pics but not in others. Not sure if I'll get this.

If the price is right I'll pick it up. If it's one of those $200-$220 offerings, Hot Toys can stick it. These bare bone releases like the numerous Captain America's, Amazing Spider-Man and others should not be over $200 price point. Exclusive or not. That's insane.

I agree, plus I'd really prefer plain clothes Gordon anyhow.

I suspect that because it's actually Sideshow's booth, they wanted to display a mix of new stuff and old figures they're having trouble selling out of; that's the only reason I can think why they have Tracker, Shadow and Classic Predator all on display.

The new joker DX and batman are $260 and $270. Are you not gettin those then?

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Lt. Jim Gordon S.W.A.T suit version Figure - Specs & Pic

It is getting ridiculous, I guess the rights and licenses on these properties are going up and up, and I do see a major improvement in the detail of these figures, but you're right, none of these should be plus $200 it's ridiculous. I Am down to one figure now as I had to sell others in order to get new ones in the future. In these times I can literally only have a four to five fig collection at most so I'm sticking to DX / ultra impressive ones for now. Gordon should be $180 but you know he'll be $230.......

Joker comes with tons of goodies and I used rewards points that brought it down to $220.

I'll be smart about Batman and wait until he hits retailers hard and snag it at a bargain price on the secondary market. Nothing about that figure so far has warranted an immediate preorder for me. I'd rather see in hand pics, plus it won't be coming out until next year anyway.

Gordon is a secondary character. Not obscure, but secondary. He doesn't come with a whole lot, no secondary headsculpt or alternate gear and is pretty much as bare bones as it gets. He shouldn't be $200-$220 but he probably will be.

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Lt. Jim Gordon S.W.A.T suit version Figure - Specs & Pic

:lecture:exactly: like I said in the Bane thread, not enough competition to force competitive pricing - Hot Toys owns us.

They compete with themselves though. If Batman, Joker and Bane are $250 each ... I skip The Avengers, 89 Batman/Joker, Jack Sparrow, various Batmobiles, etc. If they were $120-$150 each, I'd buy a lot more of their stuff.

I might buy this on the secondary market when they're $150 or less. Won't pay more than that.

That is true. When a company offers as many lines as Hot Toys, AND continues to raise prices, average collectors can't afford everything so they are forced to focus on specific lines and buy less...still though, at the end of the day, most of our hard earned cash ends up in their pockets, and Hot Toys wins either way. If there were multiple companies trying to attract us, it stands to reason that we'd at least see some more competitive pricing.

The big question for Gordon now is when he'll go up for pre-order!

I'm getting antsy and I can't wait.

Next week at the earliest I reckon, no way before. Glad people are into this fig. It's an acquired taste but I thinks a great sculpt and figure...
