Those are sweet shots. In the film it looks rather glossy but it's not the first time I've been misled from the screen.

Any idea what the scale of this is? For a film-used model, it's missing a few details.

Should be 1/8 scale and the same prop that Hollywood Collectors Gallery in Japan (which Toynami/Cinemaquette distributed) used to create the one that Jedster, Raf, myself, and others have in our collection right now. Paint job is totally different though since HCG went with the gloss black.

300 pages in this thread and still no specs -AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!

After getting DX09 last night, I think I'm gonna get this bad boy as well. Problem is, I have no idea where to display it, as most of the space are already taken :duh

Yeah, I won't be afraid to modify mine with a very light coat if I think it'll be necessary to bring up the gloss to the low level gloss of the 1989 car. It seems some people think that I'm trying to shine the hell out of it. No, the 1989 car doesn't appear high gloss in the film, but it's not as flat as the HT proto either. But that is a proto after all, which is why I am waiting to see how the final version looks to me in hand before I decide whether to modify it to try to match the onscreen level of gloss.
There is a much easier, more effective and safer technique: polishing.
I have bought a few black plastic items which looked too matte; instead of spraying them with light gloss, and thereby making them highly vulnerable to marring/scratching, I simply polished the plastic by hand.
With an item as large as the 1:6 Batmobile, this technique would be easy- even more so because it can almost certainly be broken down into separate parts, polished, then reassembled.
This would also be a great way to simulate the subtle variations in matte/gloss, as in the film.

This item has me conflicted. I now have to choose between the World's Finest, Batman and Joker, or the classic "Stop" display with Batman in front of the car.
