It would be cool to have a magazine called the "NAM" magazine if you were into airsoft AND you served in the Vietnam Conflict, but it is not cool to have a magazine called the "NAM" magazine if you didn't serve there. A lot of Vietnam vets think that it is wrong to say "Nam" unless you were THERE. If you weren't there, you are pretty judgmental towards other people when you have a magazine called thenammagazine if you weren't even in the Vietnam conflict. Glass houses.

I guess Vietnam doesn't have a leg to stand on then. Given without us creating an unnecessary war there and killing thousands of Vietnamese in the process, upsetting the culture and then abandoning them when they needed us the most, they wouldn't have the right to use the nickname and all, either, right? Does your ignorance know no bounds?

"Nam" has always been a nickname for the Vietnam Conflict in Military parlance. Most Vietnam vets don't think that anyone who didn't serve there has a right to use the term, and they consider it disrespectful for people to do so. Maybe you didn't know that. So these same people picketed Marvel Comics and took offense to their monthly comic given the owners hadn't fought in the conflict? My magazine is associated with the sport of airsoft and airsoft alone. While aspects are certainly militaristic, and we have covered events that reenact battles in the conflict (like Gettysburg Civil War reenactors) at it's heart, it's a glorified game of war that just about every kid plays in his backyard at one point or another. My magazine, again, has absolutely no association with the conflict in Vietnam. I will add by saying that one of our staff members is a former Green Beret who served in Thailand during the end of the Vietnam conflict and he takes absolutely no offense whatsoever to the name of our publication. Neither do the thousands of Vietnam veterans I've met over the course of doing this (since 2004). So the fact that you're making a huge deal out of this, that not even the thousands of veterans I've had the luxury of meeting over the years have done, and bringing my personal life into an argument because you got the ass end of it is not only inappropriate, but entirely irrelevant to anything and everything having to do with the Hot Toys Batmobile.
