I can't say I found his costume that interesting on screen, but somehow the black and red seem to pop so much more in 1/6 scale.

I just hope it's not going to have another one of those blank, expressionless sculpts like Krennic...

I know people love Giancarlo and this'll be an unpopular opinion but that guys face just screams expressionless to me. Probably why he works so well being typecast as a villainous boss all the time.

I wonder why they chose Gideon for the name of this character - lots of history there.

I've wondered that myself. Not a very Star Wars villain last name.

Not surprised at all, he is looking to be the main antagonist after all, even if he has little screentime.

Oh I agree completely. IMO his ability to convey cold detachment while doing something truly horrific has been his calling card for quite some time now. Granted he does angry quite well too but that's not what I think of first.

Oh I agree completely. IMO his ability to convey cold detachment while doing something truly horrific has been his calling card for quite some time now. Granted he does angry quite well too but that's not what I think of first.

Well even in those moments there's still often a subtle look of disdain or contempt on his face, and you can sense the emotion underneath. Especially in his portrayal of Gideon, who was a bit more overtly evil than Fring or other characters he's played.

This is all riding on the expression. Hope its nothing like Landos "half chewie smurk" HT botches alot of African American heads.
I think their best to date is still Blade.

IMO no one is more equal opportunity at botching than HT; where Hawkeye mysteriously morphed into an Asian guy and the IW Cap head-seam-gate *still bitter*.
Then they've turn out a spectacular Bucky and Shuri.

(Haven't been able to pay off Qui-Gon yet but seems he came out pretty good, so something to look forward to.)

Gonna take a wait and see attitude toward this fig...like how HT is gonna handle the Darksaber. Figure there will be more than one Moff Gideon, eventually. It may take HT a couple of tries.

I'm curious to see how they handle his hair. His coif isn't close-cropped like Anthony Mackie's Falcon, nor is it a typical afro like Chadwick Boseman's BP (given how poorly the BP production hair came out, that's probably a good thing). I think with its combed-back style & the bit waviness that HT may actually be able to do a good job on it.

You say that but they'll use one strange look of panic just before his fighter crashes and put that on this figure.

That's exactly how the sculpt expression will look. He must know HT well and fashioned his blank expression accordingly. I know I would.
