This is what happens when a company relies on name recognition alone. Similar to how Disney operates.

But because it's Star Wars Hot Toys knows fans will buy whatever even if they aren't happy with it.

Other companies are putting out great looking figures, with tons on accessories for same or similar price point. I've stopped feeding the beast that is Hot Toys and moved on to the 3rd party and other companies. There are some amazing figures out there once you take off the Hot Toys blinders.

I wonder if the clothing would allow the articulation to go much past the 90 degrees.
Maybe the body is intentionally limited in range to avoid stress damaging the outfit?
I'm kind of grasping... It makes no sense to limit something that has been baseline articulation expectations for many decades.

Yes that's awesome and good advice, but what third-party co. is also putting out Bo here?

People are not buying this because they are so many HT slaves, but because this is the only Bo we got? And are likely to get.

They are HT slaves because they are SW slaves, you don't have to accept something that is subpar just because it's the only figure you think you will get, it's that mentality that makes people a HT slave. When you just take it you support their belief that fans will accept and pay for anything just because it has the SW name on it. If you like it that's great, but for anyone here complaining about prices, and the single joint elbow and you still buy it, you are just contributing to the problem.

I get it you want the SW figures I was that way too until recently when I got tired of supporting the crap HT has been doing. Raising prices, doing bare minimum, and taking away something that should be standard like a double-jointed elbow. So you have two choices stop supporting them, or just admit you'll accept whatever crap they will put out. If you choose the latter then no one has anyone to blame but themselves for how HT has been acting recently.

There’s also another perspective: I just don’t value a double-jointed elbow as much as you do. That doesn’t make the figure “crap”, it just means it meets my expectations while it doesn’t meet yours. It certainly doesn’t make me a slave to anyone.

You may not value it, but HT is making you pay for it like it's there. If you are cool paying for something that you aren't getting good for you.

Single jointed knees/elbows on such a pivotal character is absolute bull$#!7 🤬 When the suit fully covers the joints, at these prices theres no excuse. wtf are we paying for ?! They keep removing features that should be standard.

Bo Katan is heavily combat focused and they had an eternity to work on it. This is not ok. Theres no justification for this beyond cost cutting. This is a detriment to the functionality of the product. I could see them trying to make this standard across the board now. Koska Reeves better not have this same body.

They keep cheaping out, a little here, a little there, raise the price. These are supposed to be premium high end collectibles. Articulation matters. For what they charge, we shouldn't have to do a body swap. If its even possible to remove the costume without destroying it. We shouldn't have to pay for a replacement body.
i usually keep things positive but you’re definitely right.

do the pictures / poses look great? yes. will she be functional enough? yes. but at this very high pricepoint we shouldnt be making excuses for the company. once you get sucked into the hobby it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that these are $300 figures.

some issues with recent releases seem more incidental / unavoidable, but single joints on this figure is just a cheap move. not to mention the crazy wait time, delays, and what an important character she is.

sigh. still overall very happy with how she looks and extremely excited to get her, but this just puts an unnecessary sour taste in everyone’s mouth.

I’m getting the figure and features I wanted, so I’m more than fine with it. She’s going to look fantastic on my shelf. Good luck with your crusade, though.

LOL no crusade. Just pointing out how HT is slacking off and making people pay more for it. Enjoy your single jointed figure.

For me the single jointed elbows aren’t a deal breaker but are a bit of a bummer.

If nobody mentioned a lack of double jointed elbows, I wouldn’t even have known.

Looking at all of the cool blogger poses, what poses did you guys plan on having her in that a double jointed elbow is the dealbreaker here?

for what it’s worth, bo katan runs around and shoots with her elbows locked completely straight a lot of the time. recreating action scenes from mando shouldnt be too difficult.

again, we shouldnt be limited or making excuses for them at this price point, but at least that’s the case. it’s not someone like fennec who would need a sharp bend to aim down sight on her sniper.

just trying to play devils advocate and lighten the mood since elbowgate has been a buzzkill today.

This. Especially since the chrome clone trooper has elbows - of whatever kind - that allow tighter folding of the elbow and thus he can hold weapons much more naturally. He has on the stretchy undersuit and so I dont mind leaving him like that for extended periods.

I'm really not one for the Spidey-style poses, but since every SW figure [?] is holding a weapon of some kind, it'd be nice for them to be able to do it really naturally. Elbows folding past 90 degrees would certainly be appropriate given the prices we are paying.

The way Sideshow try to describe these figure is always so pretentious :lol
I’ve gotten the vibe that they’re new target audience is new casual collectors who don’t know much about the hobby, so they make these things sound way fancier than they are.
