lovin the black clothes!!
Turned out pretty good, but isn't the black robe supposed to have a hood?
It looks like from those pics that sometimes the black outfit had the hood and sometimes it didn't. So I guess depending on the scene the figure is accurate from what I'm seeing. Maybe Flynn would derezz his hood when he didn't need it. Still, a hood would have made this figure more complete.
It's odd that nobody is bashing the black robe, it does look good but it isn't accurate to the film at all, and that's where it kicks all kinds of ass.
Having no hood is unforgivable, there's no excuse for that. And having no light up feature is disappointing as well.
If this were an Enterbay release there would be a minimum of 50 posts ripping these mishaps apart. But seeing this is a HT release it barely gets any play....................interesting.
I completely agree. Even if it was the same price, had Medicom or Enterbay made this figure people would be ________ like crazy. While the lack of a hood is stupid, it is the lack of the light up feature that makes this release downright embarrassing. It is the key feature to the outfit that makes it look unique and not just some generic black robe. Without it, it loses that Tron system and everything. It's the difference between some guy in a robe and some guy in Tron Legacy.
I really don't understand why it isn't brought up more. This is far more important than having different shades of grey in his beard of making his eyes a little bigger. The robe is completely inaccurate and that's a fatal law with the figure. And yet, Hot Toys thinks they can still charge premum price for this figure even though it isn't accurate and it doesn't even come with much to justify the price regardless. This is what happens when you have no direct competition. Sure they have the other companies, but Hot Toys is the only one making 1/6 scale of Tron. They just do a half assed job doing Kevin and a version o Sam that isn't even a figure and then they just walk off on the fans suspending the license probably forever. Thanks a lot Hot Toys. You really had our backs.
I can understand your complaints but I don't know if its fair to compare the lack of light up features in this figure with the Iron Man line or Spinmaster's Tron line. I have never seen examples of a light up feature in 1:6 scale clothing before. I don't know if the technology exists or if it did would it look very good or cause the figure to double or triple in price. I'd also think it would make the figure less durable. Personally, I would rather have HT use a reflective material if future figures are made than worry about batteries and whether the figure will light up evenly. Just my two bits. I do agree about the hood.
Even Medicom bothered to put reflective strips on their Daft Punk figures!
