If there is a time to at least announce for newer movies, it is before a movie comes out. By the time it has left the theaters and hype has died down, the incentive to do anything in a reasonable pace goes out the window. Hence, we still don't have Prometheus figures.

Bingo.....we could still get a figure or two at this stage but no deep run which most folks hoped (multiple versions of Charles, Eric and Logan etc.). We will be lucky to get either a past or a future version of a character. The longer it goes the less likely even that will happen. I tend to believe either HT doesn't like Xmen or doesn't see profit in producing Xmen figures. Money talks and if they really wanted the license, I am sure it could be obtained.

There was no license announcement or hype with the Wolverine, they just threw the pictures up one day and it was way after the film released.

They seem to be focused on Maleficent right now. Perhaps that was a more important project for them, and it pushed X-men on the back burner and they simply aren't ready to present anything right now.

Perhaps but I wouldn't think Maleficent would generate the sales of Xmen characters.....not that anyone knows what is going on with HT. :)

Who????? I guess some folks enjoy their Disney Princesses, I'll pass :rotfl

I have four daughters none young enough to be obsessed with the movie. I enjoyed the snowman and I don't recall his name either. anyway, I figured princess obsession were for little, little people....I expected folks who can afford $200+ figures wouldn't necessarily be into Disney Princesses.....as I said, to each their own.

Starting to think that we'll only see Wolverine from this film. I know it took a while for the figure from The Wolverine to be announced, but I think with this being a bigger film that Hot Toys would have made an announcement if they had big plans. Not to say I won't get a Wolverine figure but I'd still really like Xavier and Magneto.

HT is always looking for female characters (Abigail Whistler ? :cuckoo: ) I remember an interview where they talked about the lack of female figures but said it was difficult to find suitable characters that would be appealing to their demographic.

I think they are betting on Disney fans being the crazy rabid fanatical collectors that they already are and the star power of Jolie.

I know Mystique would be a perfect choice but theres obvious technical hurdles that I think HT is afraid of. Everyone would expect that figure to be seamless and it just isn't possible without having QC issues. They are not going to release a Phiecen type body cause if anything broke people would expect a replacement and it would be a disaster. Especially after the Batman fiasco, I doubt they will consider it. They have experimented with figures like Ada Wong, but even that figure is wearing a dress to cover the joints. Personally I wouldn't mind her having visible joints, even something like the Predator bodies could work. But im sure more sophisticated collectors :rolleyes2 will dismiss that as a 'over priced Hasbro toy'

I'm actually curious as to what made them think she would be a good figure to make...

Who ever said that would be a good idea for a Hot Toys figure?

I've speculated before and I think it may be part of their deal with Disney/Marvel. Like a "we'll let you make all the Marvel characters you want but you also have to make characters from our other films" a la Lone Ranger and now Maleficent

I doubt maleficent will sell well at all. It's a cool take on the character but I doubt there will be parents and children in such awe that they want to buy a $200+ figure.
