All I can say about Spidey in the Spidey films so far is that Tobey was a better written Peter while Andrew was a better written Spidey. Absolutely can't stand Garfield's Peter.

I am trying to understand why he was so scatter brain when he was peter he was like a live action version of the ultimate Spiderman cartoon

I'm more of a Marvel Studios kind of guy, and I haven't seen DOFP yet, but given the description i've heard of the ending, with the original cast returning, I'd love for Fox to make another X-Men film, set in the present day with a team consisting of: James Marsden as Cyclops, Famke Jensen as Jean Grey, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Halle Berry as Storm, Anna Paquin as Rogue, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Ellen Page as Shadowcat, Daniel Cudmore as Colossus, Shawn Asmore as Iceman and Patrick Stewart as Prof. Xavier.

Make Cyclops the leader, suit them up in something a little more comic booky and you've got my price of admission, plus I'd probably buy any Hot Toys figures they'd produce from that group.

Going off on a bit of a tangent for this post...

I agree 100%. One issue I've had with the X-Men live action movies is that Cyclops isn't written as the leader he should be. Granted, this is an issue that also exists in the comic books. Writers seem to often miss the mark when implementing the character in stories, much like Captain America and Superman. However, when written well by a writer who "gets" the character, it becomes an outstanding piece of fiction.

I know that Wolverine is the easy choice for the flagship character of the X-Men franchise but if Cyclops was given the same treatment that Captain America has in the live action movie realm, he would and should be a credible lead protagonist for X-Men movie stories.

The thing is, people don't understand that Cyclops is a gifted tactician due to his high spatial awareness from the fact he always has to know where his optic blasts are facing.

Im glad that he's getting more attention in the newer comic series like All-New Xmen

Ive often admired that about cyclops, makes him way better IMO

Finally seen the flick today! Great movie and Hot Toys would have another 2 grand of my money if they made figures from it! Get on it!

Just going by The Animated Series and the 60's-70's comics I've read, Cyclops has always been a boring, whitebread *******. As a kid I liked him simply because he was the leader and I loved playing him in the Capcom fighting games. Now, after reading criticisms of James Marsden, (who looks the part and played it as well as anyone can in the role,) it made me wonder where this charming, charismatic Cyclops, the fanboys are enamored with, came from.

I wouldn't say he was ever "charming and charismatic" exactly, but he did make for a great leader. The same could be said for Captain America, Mr. Fantastic, Robin (of the Teen Titans), or Superman for that matter.

For whatever reason, I usually liked Cap and Supes' personalities. But even in TAS, Cyclops just acted like he had a stick up his ass and always *****ed at Wolverine. How is that different from Marsden's portrayal?

It isn't so much, but you never got enough of Cyke to see that relationship fleshed out. During the Cockrum/Byrne years, they were always going at it, but I thought it made for an interesting dynamic, and is part of why Wolverine developed into the anti-establishment icon that he was. . .until he joined the Avengers or whatever (total sell out move).

Cap's relationship with Hawkeye in the '60s Avengers comics was pretty similar. Superman would just perform a lobotomy on his detractors with his heat vision, so he never ran into that problem.

I get what you mean. I was definitely a Cyclops apologist as a kid, but there's a reason Wolverine is the more popular character. Now if Cyke could get a characterization as good as Evans' Cap, I wouldn't mind seeing him at the forefront of a future X-Men film.

Just seen the movie today, I liked it.
I'm hoping for a Fass Magneto now, moved to the top of the list!

My new favorite Fassneto as a badass scene is when he rips the bullet out of Mystique's leg. Ottman's score over this is amazing.

great altogether scene, my favourite would be the stadium lift, such power he has, and Fass only amplifies his awesomeness

According to Rob Liefeld, the X-Force creator:

X-Men: Days of Future Past will match If not exceed The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s domestic box office, meaning lots of eyeballs, but there are no toy tie-ins. The Fox shut out is real.
It’s not money that matters in this strategy, it’s the hearts and minds of kids/toy buyers, not-too-subtly communicating what’s “important.”
Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 toys everywhere, X-Men – zippo. No promotions from toy aisles. Starve those properties. Makes X-Men [box office] comeback impressive!
No emotion in these facts/reporting, it’s just numbers and business. But the messages are clear.
X-Men: Days of Future Past toys would get in the way of upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy onslaught of toys.
Bottom line, it’s a ballsy move to downgrade properties with high profile, big budget support in favor of stuff you control wholesale. Gotta respect it. And equal respect to those properties slugging it out without equal support across multiple platforms.
You gotta understand, I love this stuff!! I love the business of comic films/brands and the unique situation Marvel has with their licenses.

How sad, Marvel trying to sabotage Fox and the properties that they created themselves.

Bottom line. The reason we have no merchandise is because Disney doesn't want to make money and please the fans all because they don't monopoles the franchise.

****ing hate Disney for this  :thwak

Yep, it ****ing sucks...

Bleeding cool was reporting earlier that Marvel was going to stop the Fantastic Four comic series (yes the whole series) just to screw Fox on that end too. Only heard that report so not saying its 100% but would make sense with this strategy

Thing is that wouldn't hurt the movie at all, just the comics and the comics fans. Comics don't improve movie sales and movie don't improve comics sales.

How do we know it's Disney for sure? Yes they own Marvel, but how to we know this comes straight from them? From everything that Marvel has done to actors in the past it sounds like something they would do.
