"_____ is for the weak!"

I understand both sides. Imagine if your boss told you that you had to work all weekend and stay after hours, till early morning, because of some big promotion they were holding. I'm glad we get ANYTHING AT ALL in the evening and on the weekends. If life interferes with me winning something, then oh well. That's why they say, "that's life."

Thats crap... I want everything handed to me on a silver platter. I don't want to have to work for it or stay up or skip work. Gime gime gime. :D

You guys aren't serious, right? :D

This is 'classic' Iron Man, a character Lee used to epitomize the capitalist industrial America of the Cold War. Yea, Cap actually WEARS the flag, but Stark was every bit the symbol of American patriotism in the 60's, taken to the extreme. I'm not suprised in the least that a classic representation of him would include the flag.

See, that's a matter of view. In that context, you're stating the American flag represents "Capitalism." And to some it does. This is why we we're despised by many and the sole reason we were attacked by Muslim extremists (serious here). Personally, I think that, even in the 60's, it represented freedom and democracy, hence why it's more appropriate for Captain America to have it vs. Stark, being the millionaire, self-centered, womanizing alcoholic that he was during that time frame/costume era.

EDIT: The difference being Stark was living the American dream. Cap was fighting for it.

But wouldn't that justify hiring more people specifically to work weekends? Sideshow could be creating jobs, not costing me mine. ;)

I did.Woke up from a nap and found out I won.

Dude! What the hell? AGAIN?

I know it probably sounds stupid but I think Sideshow has a glitch in their contest system. At least once within every promotion (Falltacular, Spook, etc) there is one person who wins mulitple times on "random" drawings. I saw it with Spook last year and in one of the past promotions I know someone who one 3 times, all in "random" drawings. Could it just be a fluke? Sure, but with the odds it's not very likely...

By that rationale, and in a business sense, costs would have to be increased to cover salaries. So while you'd still have your job, you'd be paying more than you are now... there's a Catch-22.

Honestly since this is a MAJOR promotion for them it would be easy to see if anyone wanted to work at least part of the weekend. There is always somebody willing to do it. Thats the last I will say about it... I want my free stuff. :)

But he wasn't that alcohlic time frame for his entire existence. A lot came before that. And Political views should be kept to other areas of the forum. A lot of what you wrote was offensive.

Why is it that I can see you at Sideshow's doors, mimicking that Mervyn's commercial..."OPEN! OPEN! OPEN!" :rotfl

I'm sure Sideshow isn't hurting for profits. If they can afford to give away Premium Format figures and statues like candy at Hallowe'en, they can afford to pay someone to work one weekend per year. It's not like they'd have to shell out for benefits or anything like that.

Hell, I'd do it for free. :naughty

Yeah, they can afford to spend hours and hours creating these (admittedly very cool) videos, flash animations, comic strips, and so forth for this promotion, but they can't afford to have someone update the site during the weekend? Come on. I'm sure they had their reasons, but it doesn't make much sense to say that they just couldn't afford to offer anything during the weekend.

It wasn't meant to be offensive, I was just pointing out two different takes on representations of the U.S. flag. None of my views were expressed in that statement.

Dude, saying the only reason we were attacked on 911 is Capitalism is offensive. I lost people I knew in that attack.

Did I mention 911? U.S. forces, which I was a part of, have been attacked all over the world by Muslim extremists because of their views toward our country.
