Booze and cigarettes? C'mon, very few people spend thousands on booze and cigarettes—maybe hundreds. But more commonly, spending thousands on "fancy expensive dinners" is no different and can be as detrimental as spending thousands on fancy expensive figures.

I have some bottle's that cost. I do not drink them (I cook with them). Taking up drugs would be cheaper then collecting SS items. By the time you buy it, pay for shipping/tax, showing them off, keeping a roof over their head. Kids sometimes move out at 18 (I still have toy's that I have had for over 35 years).

Dinners, yup those can cost you.

And that's why we are all here. Talking amongst fellow freaks, haha. It's getting rough trying to get all of the figures that I want. I'm starting to trim down and replace them with ones that I must have in the collection. A nice excel sheet with a history on what I've spent is a good way to keep this hobby in check,

trust me i embrace my hobby as odd as it may come across certain people. i actually did i an excel sheet of the figured i needed and i have since gotten all the ones i really wanted. now im just trying hard not to spend so much mainly because i ran out of room.

a project that i want to start is to start taking pictures of each individual figure i have (most of my action figures are moc) and id like to start a blog or gallery where i can post them just so people can access for reference. ive been lazy so i havent started but i will get to it.......eventually.

I beg to differ. I can resell my collection for as much, if not more than what I paid for it. How much can you sell that steak dinner that you turned into a turd for?

This is way OT, when I go to homes and cook. Rib eye age depending on the size of the meat. $75 and up (keep in mind I go to their homes, they do not come to me).

Some items do go for more others far less. I just pickup SS Maul for $113 ship, Droids $60 to 90 a set ship, etc. Something go up and others do not. Given that SS and their low numbers help. HT, forget it more goes out the back door then what they sell. Someone on this board is selling a clone that I want. His price is fair and I want to buy it. Just low on toy funds right now, if not I would buy it fast (if you look at my WTB list, it was close to filled in less then a hour).

As for the Turd, yes anyway you look at it your right. Anything you buy you still have 2 days later. A dinner, is gone in 2 days. Unless your packed up and if your unlucky you have it 8 days or longer.

My last expensive steak dinner turned into an all night shagathon with my dinner date before it had reached my bowels. Though admittedly the subsequent turd was flushed rather than ebayed.

Dry your poop in the sun or oven, put google eyes and a little hat on it, and you've got a $20 BIN item on eBay. Add that up, every poop you do, and you've got an eBay store that can potentially net you hundreds if not thousands. I've checked, and as long as the poop has been properly treated you're allow to sell it on eBay.

A moose's poop will fetch more, especially when its made into jewellery! :horror :lol

I guess at least you can appreciate your figures more than a meal that will spend a couple of seconds in your mouth and a couple of hours in your body, the figures can be resold too,
I personally don't like to drink, I don't like the taste and i don't like getting drunk, makes me feel weird,

is like one time my friend was telling me how he spend 160 bucks on 1 underwear, I was like.... I could buy a figure with that lol :rotfl

the average smoker spends $6K a year on cigarettes

This is not new. I gave it a go but I got so sick of buyers whining about how I wasn't completing lines they were expecting (ie, "you give us sauerkraut poop and bolognese poop - why no vindaloo poop? You FAIL")

Cigarettes?!?!! :monkey4

Glad I don't spend 6k a year on that ____. :lol

Since I do not smoke nor drink, I can spend leftover funds on figures and clothes. I give props to people that can afford to do it all and still support the family.

That's incorrect: you'd have to be smoking three and a half packs per day every day, 365 days a year! Hardly likely, and hardly average. The average cigarette consumption in the US per capita is about 1,200 smokes. That's about 60 packs per year, on average, or about $300.

Now, how much do you spend on this hobby annually? And be honest.

Well, OK, but you're rationalizing big-time. Again, the average American smoker spends about $300 on his habit.

I don't even break $2000. Guess I'm a below average smoker.

Nope, at about a pack a day, you're way above average.

By the way, lest anyone thinks me a champion of the cancer stick, I detest smoking. I have never smoked, save once when I sneaked one from my dad when I was about 8 or 9.
