How long have you been collecting and what do you mostly collect ?

Forgot to mention, I mainly collect Universal Monsters and LOTR, then some OT Star Wars and 80's Sci-fi (Pred, Alien, Terminator).

I've been collecting since 1981. Started out with He-Man, Mego World's Greatest Superheroes, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats and Star Wars.
In the 90's I turned my attention to 1/6, namely the G.I.Joe Hall of Fame figures. I got back into smaller Joes around 1997 when I found Ebay for the first time.
Now I collect 1/6 scale but not exclusively since I occasionally pickup the smaller Joes and Microman figures plus Marvel Legends is always a favorite.
I used to collect Masters of the Universe for the new series until they stopped making them

I was born in 1971 so I naturally collected GI Joe. The Adventure Team, then Big Jim, Mego figures, and then STAR WARS happened. All figures seemed to go from play friendly 12" to 3 3/4". I had them all as a kid but still loved the "large size" figures. I stopped collecting figures until a few years ago I came across some 12" Joes in a flea market. My interest in Joes started again big time and then I made the fateful error of finding this forum. Now the Sideshow figures are starting to outnumber the Adventure Team. My wife is thrilled ( not really).

I didn't COLLECT crap when I was a kid (except Garbage Pale kids and Baseball cards)... I played with my Toys/Action Figs!!!!

I got into Warhammer and Spawn about 10 years ago. Didn't seriously start collecting until 2006... and It's all just things I like.. nothing to make money or to be a completest.

That said I mainly collect... Sideshow LOTR,SW,Marvel,Horror.

Been collecting since i purchased the avp elder in september '07 , really liked it and now been building up my alien, predator collection...then went down the uscm route... all are 1/6th scale from hot toys....

Found a top supplier of pred bio's so bought some of them......

Then I got hold of my grail item..a P1 1:1 bust........sweet

Its been an expensive 7 months but very good fun

I started collecting when I was a kid. In Romania (Eastern Soviet block) in the 80's I couldn't find Star Wars toys. But still I collected die-cast cars and tanks (the soviet ones are really cool) and stamps. Since the 90's (no more commies) I started collecting African and Asian statues and masks, CD's and Romanian Playboy edition .

Starting with 2000 I joined the Star Wars collectors community first colelcting Action Fleet and MicroMachines and then moving to Kotobukiya, Sideshow, Medicom. My focus are Original Trilogy and Expanded Universe (no Prequels) - Imperials and droids.

At the same time I got hooked into Masamune Shirow's work and focused on his artbooks, manga and Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Intron Depot etc. figures/statues

Jeeze, maybe since 1988? Not sure of the exact year, and this may be morbid, but it wass the year my mom's mom died. They were cleaning out the attic at the house and I got my first Star Wars figures. Luke, 3PO and POSSIBLY a wind up R2 of some sort (keep in mind I was born in 1985). From then on it was Star Wars, Turtles, Joe, Transformers... anything big for boys in the 80s and 90s you name it. Then in 95 Star Wars hit again, and been doing that since including their 12 inch line then finally jumped to SS when they got the Star Wars license. Followed by LOTR and a few other things. Now I also get the Muppets from MR and (if I keep them on order) the Pirates figures from HT. Not into the statues really though. I like to be able to play around with my purchases.

Ive been seriously collecting for about 3 years. Had the little bit here-and-there collecting when I was younger during the beginning of the Star Wars PT, but got into SS, GG, Koto, HT, Medi about 3 years ago when I started working. When I graduate, I will still collect 12" but would like to expand into all forms of collectibles.

Since I don't have a lot of $$$, I mostly collect 12" with the occasional PF of a character or pose I really like.
