How many dips will you do on your Avengers characters?

Should add as well.. with Civil War looking to be AoU2 as far as definate and possible figures go, I have no interest in buying a whole new lineup of Avengers, and the previous support role characters like Winter Soldier, Falcon and War Machine don't interest me enough even though I don't have older versions of them. Something about the Scarlet Witch character and look however. I hope the next movie does something good with her and that she stays around for Infinity Wars.

I have all but one Captain America figure. As far as anyone else goes, I really only need one version of each.

Buy them all, avoid the hard choices.

You paying? :lol

I'm still only really a "beginner" collector, but the only characters I'm buying multiples of currently are Scarlet Witch and Bucky. I've got Scarlet Witch AoU on pre order, and I'm definitely getting New Avengers. Maybe Civil War, if they release her. I've got TWS Bucky too, and getting CW Bucky, but I feel I only need (at this point) one Cap, so I'm getting the CW one to match Buck. At this point I'm prioritising my faves for getting more than one variation of each figure, but we'll see what happens when I have more money (and more space) :lol

He does... for his ;)

You're a kiwi? where are you getting your figures from?

Hahaha :p I am a kiwi!! I've pre ordered SW from Sideshow (she's being shipped to a friend in the states, then to me) and I got Quicksilver from Timcent, but my CW figures I was thinking of getting through Mohock Collectibles :) They're who I bought Winter Soldier from at Armageddon. Have you used them before?

Trying to keep it to one of each of the original core members except maybe Iron Man. I have the Mark XLII, Black Widow from The Winter Soldier, Thor from The Dark World so far. Need to get Cap, Hawkeye, and Hulk. Think I'm going to get the Civil War Cap, either the Age of Ultron or Civil War Hawkeye, and would like to hunt down a Hulk from The Avengers. Not sure who I'll all pick up aside from the main team. I don't care too much if my team isn't all from one film.

I've never used Mohock. They are the only other well advertised NZ seller/stockist (that I know of) besides Mighty Ape. I've bought a couple of older figures (both TDW Thor and Loki) on special from Mighty Ape, combined with Visa Hot Points to make a decent saving. The rest are roughly half Sideshow, half Popcultcha. I also nervously bought the two oldest long out of production Thors from a couple of asian websites. Actually, it now comes to me too.... there is a place called Retrospace in Auckland that I stumbled across. They don't have much in the way of Hot Toys, but they sell some amongst there other collectible/pop-culture stuff.. and I found the DX-13 Terminator there, which is long out of stock elsewhere. They still have Hot Toys Star-Lord too, which I haven't seen anywhere else in a long time. I've been tempted to get him for a while, but his price has gone up a bit..

Winter Soldier/Bucky get unlimited dips, and that's it. He's the character that got me back into comics with Brubaker's legendary Cap run. It used to be Captain America that I was buying up, but after rereading the comics I refocused things. Really a way to control spending and space issues as well. These figures are so addicting. I haven't experienced anything like it in all my years of collecting high end stuff. It'd be really easy to let it get crazy with multiple versions of many different characters. Also a big fan of character progression collections so that helps -- got a Luke progression going that's rekindled my love of Starwars collecting.

Ohh yeah, I haven't looked at buying from Mighty Ape because I'm currently only after the upcoming releases, and MA seem notorious for not getting their stock when they say. Last year I wanted the AoU Black Widow Funko pop, they said she was releasing June 15th, I came back from my holiday in the states in July (where I got BW) and MA were still showing her as unreleased. I haven't been into Retrospace, but again unless I looked for an older figure, I probably won't buy from them - I saw at Armageddon in October they had AoU Hawkeye, but they had him at $450! I just was not prepared to spend that. At least with Mohock, from what I've seen, their prices are roughly just over or just on par with Sideshow's price, converted to NZD, and they have free shipping over $100 within NZ, and I think rewards points too? I asked when they were getting SW in stock, and their timeline worked out about the same as Sideshow, so I'm just waiting to see when she shows as in stock compared to Sideshow, and that will probably seal the deal for me when it comes to CW figures.

I buy what I think constitutes the best look for each character. Iron Man notwithstanding because I have the Mechanic, though I look at that as a different character in a lot of ways. And with that I'm pretty much done. I can't go spending $200+ for duplicates. For example, the Mark 43 armor is my favorite and Iron Man is now covered in my collection, I don't think they will usurp that with the new sleek sort of chunky looking armors.

It depends on the character. I'm happy with my GOTG Star Lord and AoU Scarlet Witch. I won't be buying any "dupes" of those, even if the costumes change. I currently own three Caps (TFA Rescue, TFA Hero Costume, and TWS Stealth) and plan on picking up the Civil War figure as well. When it comes to the Caps, I wanted at least one from each of his solo films and for the outfits/styling to be significantly different from one another. For those particular figures, they are. The Avengers Cap and AoU Cap are far too flashy for my taste :lol

I also have an Avengers Loki and a TDW Loki, although I half wish I had stuck with just the Avengers figure because the outfits are so similar. At this point, it's unlikely that I'll pick up Ragnarok Loki if he looks relatively unchanged (I assume there will be small cosmetic changes, but not enough for me to justify shelling out another $250).

On the other hand, I'll buy any and all Bucky/Winter Soldier figures they put out, even with similar outfits. There are fewer figures for him (still hoping for a very late release of a TFA Bucky) so I know he'll be able to fit into my case and my wallet.

For characters I'm not crazy about, I'll pass completely, especially when their costumes look virtually the same with each release (ex Black Widow).

I'm the same way as far as GotG is concerned.

I have Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot and Rocket. I won't be getting that group again, as the figure set from the first film will be enough for me to represent them.

cap (TWS-GA & AOU) & tony (7, 42, 43, & a civilian stark) for me. I love all of their suits. & I will get CW versions as well to pose against each other :p

I want to keep "dipping", towards only those 2, but I have A1&2 hulk(couldn't resist), & I will own CW hawkeye & not get rid of my AoU one. will have to make more space this upcoming year! :p

Personally for me, I try to get my favorite version of each character. Some I have held off on because I want to see if I like the "yet to be released" version more. I am a huge Captain America fan though and have tried to get every version of him, if the changes in costume have been significant.

See, I'd LOVE to get one Iron Man armour from each film only because I love Iron Man. War Machine, the only one I wanted to get was the Mark I because it's bulky, big and is actually a War Machine. The Mark III however looks amazing and how it should look so I would LOVE to get him....
especially if he dies in CW.
Then I'll HAVE to buy the Mark III. I really dig Scarlet Witch's end of AOU/CW suit, I want to grab just "the best" version for me of each character and that look is more Avenger-y as opposed to the first one just looking like "some chick in street clothes with powers". :horror

Brubaker is the main reason I love Cap (Chris Evans is a close second). :hi5:

I have a one figure per character rule, though I briefly sidestepped it for Iron Man (one red/gold suit, one color variant). Right now, I'm back down to only one IM (Mark 3, which might get replaced with a Mark 45/46). I may break my rule (for good) and double dip on Cap though- I love TFA for the classic WWII look, but I also really like the newer Cap outfits (Stealth, CW). Stealth was a bit of a flawed figure (as was TFA, admittedly), so it was easier to skip. CW Cap looks like it may be fantastic though, so that'll be harder to pass up. Fortunately (?), price is a prohibitive enough factor to keep me from getting a second Cap figure (if these were $150, I'd easily end up with all three :lol).

4 Widows
3 Iron Man - 6, 7 & 33 (& 45 on order)
1 Cap - AOU
1 Maria Hill

I would to say I love Scar Jo as BW from Day 1. Will definitely get my fifth. Iron Man was based on uniqueness of the suit and pricing of the time. BD Mark 3 was too expensive, so I went for the BD Mark 6. Then I want a circular RT IM and Mark 4 was too expensive, so I went with Mark 7. I like the comic book history with 33, so I got it even when it was on screen for 2 minutes. 45 is my first DC and I like the curvy, muscular look of design. Never been a fan of the Cap outfits but I like the AOU suit and the figure the most. I will stick with AOU Cap as my definitive Cap. Maria is a one off that will not come again.

Yeah, I have to say, I really love the CW Cap improvements. Definitely a worthwhile figure with great options. I would be happy with AOU if I had gotten him, but I'm not kicking myself for missing it like I was now, either.
