How many prefer OT characters over PT characters?

As for fairness and caring, he did hear all the whining tittybaby rants and released the original, untouched films on DVD, so I don't know why you're still whining about that.

Yeah, in 4:3 ratio and untouched from the laserdisc releases. Thanks a bunch Lucas.

I'd like the originals remastered and in widescreen please. Then I would have no reason to complain at all, and Lucas could have some more of my money. Win/Win surely?

There are many reasons to hate the Special Editions, but my personal beef is that they removed my favourite line.

As far as my "collecting" of Sideshow 1/6 products go, yeah I prefer OT. That said I do own Qui Gon and Maul and would love to add young Obi. I may also get Jedi Obi from Clonewars and if they ever make them, I'd get Dooku and Greivous but that would be it for my PT stuff. As for OT, I'm far from a completist. I was late to the party and did not get Jedi Luke but do not regret not owning him. I also do not Jabba or most of his palace assemblage except Leia as Boush. Gammy does nothing for me so he's a pass and I'm debating Greedo I tend to stick to the primary characters and Stormtroopers. But for the most part I just get what I like... makes it much easier on my wallet.

Like you say, the existing DVD release is a bloody joke and guaranteed profit aside, putting out the originals with proper care would make a lot of displeased people very happy.

BTW, did you love "Bring my shuttle" too?

And you do realise you directly responded to someone who feels comfortable using the phrase "tittybaby" in an adult conversation. I will never make that mistake again.

Beggars can't be choosers? :dunno He didn't have to release it at all, since it wasn't his original vision, but he did.

Lucas' recollection of his "original vision" has changed so many times over the years, I doubt even he remembers what his original vision actually was.

:lol:rotfl:lol:rotfl:lol I can't argue with that. Maybe we'll get special editions of the Special Editions likely to include Han shooting first (again), an all digital Yoda and color-coated Stormtroopers.

All they need is to hire a crack team of designers for their new movies, CG, live-action, games etc etc.

The prequels suffered from horribly designed characters and most of the ships.

What I didn't like about the OT? Darnit, nothing!!! I even love the... ok wait, the Ewoks was a bit too much but if they are used in the movies like they did on the Jawas, yes, I will even like the Ewoks but honestly, I love the Ewoks compared to Gungans!

Do I prefer OT characters more than PT? Straight answer: YES!

Yeah, not seeing it.

I was going to edit my post on what I like on the prequels but I guess I was too late!

IMO, the prequel still suffers from a lot of horribly designed characters save those characters photos attached above.

I am lucky that we have those sweet looking clone troopers which I like more than the Stormtroopers. See my post on 1/6 Clone figs and Commandoes. Other than Aayla, Maul, its IMO that I do not like most to the PT alien designs and that includes, Plo Koon and Fisto.

I try to rise above that sort of thing.

And yeah, it was "Bring my shuttle". It's so succint, sums up Vader's mood perfectly, and needs no further explanation. We watched my old VHS of Empire about a gazillion times when I was a poor student, and my friends and I used "Bring my shuttle" whenever we were in a foul mood about something. Dinner burnt? "Bring my shuttle". Student loan cheque late? "Bring my shuttle". You get the idea.

So yeah, things like that remind you of a certain time and place, and take on more meaning for people. That's what Lucas can't seem to understand, that those original films ceased to be "his" once they became loved by so many millions of people.

To me, the changes he made to the OT are like Paul McCartney going back and adding a rap over Sgt. Pepper. Only he also went back in time and deleted all copies of the original, so that people can only ever listen to the rapping version.

Although my heart will always prefer the OT, there are still some great characters from the PT. So i don't really have a preference as long as the character is done well.

The PT was over-designed and underdeveloped. I enjoyed the movies, but they don't come anywhere near the story-telling or emotional power of the OT.

I don't mind the changes to the OT. Like watching a jazz musician riff on Rhapsody in Blue, which is also so good it needs no help.

If I really want a nostalgia experience, I throw in the non-anamorphic THX-less DVD's on the unchanged versions and zoom in till I basically have pan-and-scan. That's what I remember from m childhood anyway! But I hardly ever do...

As to PT characters, Qui-Gon shouldn't exist (it should've ONLY been Obi Wan), and neither should Count Dooku or Greivous (it should ave ONLY been Darth Maul.) Too many characters, not enough development.
