No Stimulus Checks with this bogus "Stimulus Package".

Conversely, they could have sent a $19,000 check to EVERY tax-payer directly and it would have cost less than the B.S. that just got passed. Think that just might have helped folks and actually stimulated the economy? :banghead

Politicians (Obama included) are all snake oil salesmen. Quit falling for it, people.

:clap :clap :clap

And IJ, you might want to not have so much taken out. I think I saw you said something like $4900 and $3400 getting back? that money would do better in your pocket than in the gov't pocket. I believe California got issues IOU's during a tax return a year ago. How bad would that suck?

I get $194, not great, but it's something. The government always screws over college students with taxes.

Really? How? I was always under the impression that working college students get almost all their tax money back....... :dunno

I should be getting about $300 back..... It'll be going towards one of the few items I'll be getting this year (Wolverine PF ex, Sabretooth PF ex (if it converts ) and the Jack Sparrow PF (If it comes out this year )

I'll probably end up paying a bit, but that's fine with me. My investments did very well last year rebounding big from 2008.

Now I just have to wait for my accountant to get back to me....

Between the missus and I we usually get back around $5000 AUD
every year. This year the money is going towards our 3 week
holiday in September to Hong Kong and Thailand. And yes I will be
dropping in to Toy hunters....:chew:chew..Cant wait..:D

Just got our taxes back... I'm getting over $900 and the missus is almost getting $1000...

:banana:banana:banana

I just caught wind that I'll be getting $1100 back this year! :horror:

That's the most I've ever gotten back! :lol That money will just be stashed away for living expenses, and to fund the three PF's I want this year  (Wolverine, Undying Carcass and Jack Sparrow :banana)

You guys SUCK!

I OWE almost 2 grand! I've been doing (full time) freelance for the past couple of years and the self employment tax is killing me! I pay about 40% of my income to taxes! :horror No matter what deductions I put in, it's not nearly enough to make a dent.

Forget working for myself. I'm really going to have to find a real job this year.

Well, congratulations to you guys. Hmmph.

That's what sucks about being a contract worker.... I did this at the end of 2008 for only about three months. I ended up paying about $800 out of my pocket!:banghead

So I feel your pain.... A full time job is always ideal. But I'm not sure what industry you're in..... What work do you do BTW? :naughty

I'm a full time student with no income....

So I'm getting back a big goose egg!!! :lol

Put alittle toward your student loans. :monkey3

I got $10k back this year! Having a kid definitely helped. Unfortunately, ALL of the money is going towards the down payment towards the new house. Exciting, and yet disappointing that we can't use some of it for fun.
