Why is everyone uncomfortable about telling how much they spent. Is it because deep down they feel guilty about spending money on something that doesn't really help the world much. Would you feel as bad if you were asked about how much money you gave to charity? I think in that case you would feel proud (yet humble of course).

So, from the responses I see it seems that deep down people feel guilty about giving into their desires about Hot Toy collecting that results in limited personal gain.

Yeah, I spent £10,00 on a PhD and it was the best money spent! I feel great!:chew
I spent £100 pounds towards a hospital and it felt great!:banana
I spent £500 on a child orphanage project and it felt like I was making a change!:peace
I spent £140 on a Hot Toy Predator 2 and I felt like s**t. I love the character but still, if someone asks me I lie and say I got it for £20.:monkey2

Pschyo-analysis ended.

Don't give into your materialistic desires too much. It's not 'worth' it.

I was going to dress up as Tom Selleck's chest for Halloween this year so i bought P!tu's hair for tree fiddy. When it arrived it smelled like a dirty aquarium so I asked for my money back.

Yeah its hard to tell someone how much I actually spent on one figure, considering how much clothing/shoes/DVDS/Video games I could have bought with that money.

But these little guys bring such joy to my heart ;) I'd like to see some charity do that for me :D.

Either way if I ever get around to selling them( I doubt it) I'll get back what I spent on them if not more. They are like Art pieces though and one of a kind, anyways I think 1/6th collecting ain't a bad thing.

HOLY ^^^^ and thank you for this thread, I just added everything up and i'm just over $4700 for just the last 13 months :horror Dang...............I need to take an ef'n break.

I decided to take a break after I got all the figures I really, really wanted. Problem is those other ones that I just casually want wont be around since all these figs. are limited editions!

In-home, it's the Hot Toys Aliens Powerloader. It was tied with an original Takara Batman Begins figure that I paid aftermarket prices for, but eventually sold.

If you want to count Jabba and his Throne as a set, he edges out the Powerlaoder by $30 or so (got Jabba on sale).

So I'm not against buying them within reason. I bought one but I can't see myself buying another!

I gave to an orphanage project and I have the name of the child, details of how he's doing and how my money is being spent to help him. That brings JOY to my heart but I guess peoples priorities are different. I want to be able to give him education and a prospect of a better life. This gives me motivation to go out and EARN LOTS OF MONEY.

So no, collecting is not bad, it's our interests that defines us all and should be cherished, but it needs to be reasonable I guess.

No more Preds for me (other than parts because I've already broken the arm and waist armour for my P2 BD! :banghead)

P.S. Is there a Predator I because I don't see it on the Hot Toys site?

I hear ya I was like you once trying to make a change, educate people on racism in my little town. And attending protest at places that use sweat factories and that was with out spending a dime. But I just don't think one person like me can make a change. Maybe I have gotten selfish eh. :/

Whether you make a change or not shouldn't be you main worry. The important thing is that you must try with all your ability. Then IF there is God and judgement day you can say you gave it your best shot. The outcome would be irrelevant.

But if everyone gives up then there is no hope...

I've noticed that small good things I do end up multiplying and propagating. Based on that, I would never give up.

Can anyone help me in getting a P2 BD right lower fore arm?

You're right I mean imagine all the people or education I could have caused. As for the Pred. questions, Hot Toys hasn't announced anything about a Pred.1, as for the fore arm I think there is someone on the sell section of the forums selling parts.

i keep an inventory on everything I buy. I have it setup that when I sell it, I know what the difference is. So far, I've made over $5k by selling (not including Ebay/PP fees), but I have spent A LOT more than that in the few years I've been doing this.

Thanks for that tip!

The arm is so expensive I might as well buy a whole new P2 BD! :chew:monkey2

I did a good thing today. My two Boston Terriers somehow got a hold of bird's nest (very windy), and when I got home, there was one mutilated baby chick in their pen area. While I was cleaning it up, another one ran across the floor in my kitchen, just out of the dog's reach. I immediately separated the dogs (they were very excited) and called my vet. Got in touch with a lady that runs a bird rescue and drove 30 minutes to give her the chick. Cheryl, the bird lady, identified it as a "button quail". Too bad about the other one. And then after all this, I looked in my side yard, and Westside was eating yet a third button chick that had been there for awhile. I meant to take a pic of the one that made it, very cute, only about 1.5 inches.

Hopefully that counts for something...

I just got lucky. If there hadn't been a bird rescue, I would probably had to flush it, as this chick was definately ant food if I had let him out the front door.

My old Terrier used to love jumping after pigeons, ripping out their feathers and eating the meat:sick
