How to deal with the loss of a child

I'm praying and hoping that a miracle reaches your niece. It might be easier said than done, but as long as she is alive, do not give up hope. Stay strong Ben, you're not at fault for anything. Be there for your family should the worst happen. My prayers go out to you all.

Terrible thing to happen. I am expecting a niece in a few months and I couldn't imagine what I would do if something like this were to happen. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Oh man Ben, i don't know what what to say, this is a horrible situation for all involved, so sorry for you and your family.

Although i personally haven't lost any family members the feeling has shadowed over my family.

My brother died at the age of eight, i hadn't been born yet but my mother has had seasonal depression since then and my father developed a drinking problem, in my experiences there is nothing to be done over the heartache of losing a child, though it can affect others worse/less in the long run depending on their own situation.

You all have my prayers, i couldn'tt imagine losing one of my Nephews

I wanted to thank everyone who has posted here. I never thought something like this would happen and I suppose no one ever does until it does happen.

I'll do my best to honor her memory and to be there for her father, mother and my mother as well. It's been incredibly difficult for my mother and this being her first grandchild it's unbearable.

Thank you all. I hope to be back trying to talk about normal things soon, but I need to take care of all of this now.

That sounds awful. I am sorry you're going through this. I feel for you and your family, and the child. I hope I don't experience this for myself. My cousin of 14 was murdered. That was about the closest I can relate to you on the subject matter, but it happened prior to my Birth.
