How would you like your Chewie?!?

Its been a debate for awhile now and a big question on collectors minds... just how is Sideshow going to tackle Chewbacca for the 1/6 line? After seeing the Gentle Giant bust it seems to me that a fully sculpted figure might be a good way to go... but at the same time a furry figure could be pretty awesome if pulled of correctly.

So vote for what you'd like to see happen!!! :chew :chew :chew

I picked body based fur. As cool as the GG Chewie looks, I would want fur over a sculpt any day. :chew

Real fur, but weathered and aged so it looks real not ala Hasbro's Wash day Chewie with blow dry

It's difficult to make fur look right, and if it's off, then what do we do? Much easier to go with the sculpted fur body suit, I think. I'm sure Sideshow could make it look superb!

Most customizers have difficulty making fur look right. I have little hope that the factory in China will be able to carefully reproduce fully furred and perfectly made Chewies.

That's my concern with the fur route... is what happens if it goes terribly wrong. I would prefer fur... but at the same time there seems to be more control if you go a sculpted route.

While I would love fur, I dont see it happening. Also for longevity, I dont think a rubber suit would last. best option is VOTC 3 3/4 Chewie.

Customikey...you points are very well-taken. I agree...as nice as a "real fur" Chewie would be, it's almost impossible to expect a factory to pump out the quality that a custom figure would have like say, the superb one Wor-Gar has...

Now we all remember the horrible "tootsie-roll" one Hasbro foisted on us several years back...articulated, yes....good-looking, NO. And their attempt at a "real-fur" one was inspired, but with scale issues (too small) and too cute.

The latest example of what a "sculpted" Chewbacca could be like is greatly illustrated by the latest Gentle Giant bust...here's a shot I took (featured in another thread) of that excellent bust with the Sideshow Han...

The bust looks to scale with the SS Han and looks great! While in a perfect galaxy, we'd get a Sideshow Chewbacca figure with "real" fur that looks as amazing as the custom pictured above, I voted for the "sculpted" rubber suit option, hoping that if Sideshow goes that route, it will look as superb as the bust on display with Han...

Yeah I know the difficulties, I'm just over the scuplted look for Chewie and want something that stands out in the collection.

I guess they would have to make a new basebody for Chewie since he would be taller than any pre-existing figure. Or at the very least add a lot of extenders.

If they do Chewie, I want him done right. There are too many ways to screw up a figure like him and the only way to get it right is with the real fur.

I voted for sculpted with articulation because GG shows the quality you can get in sculpt and I thnk hair just can't be done to look like Chewie, OT chewie anyway, his fur seemed a little more tidy in ROTS. This feeling is with regard to the 1/6 line because premium formats are pretty out of my budget with everything else I want to own.
