I just got back from seeing it too and I really enjoyed it, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and start reading the damned things :lol

But out of the movies I've seen so far this is the one I've most enjoyed and its nice to see that even 5 movies into a franchise they are still keeping the quality up.

Also I did see it at the IMAX, while its not at all necessary, its still pretty cool to see the ending in 3D :rock

Saw it yesterday and i thought it was a very good movie, the second best after GOF:rock... But having just read the book last month, you can really see the changes and the stuff that was left out. Hopefully they will release an extended (altenate) edition:D

Don't hold your breath. They aren't as smart as Peter Jackson.

I wish they were too.

I just saw it yesterday and only one thing really bugged me. For continuities sake, why couldn't they make Sirius talking to Harry in the fire look the same as it did in TGOF? Its a tiny nit pik, but it bugged me. I would also have to agree that the pacing kinda sucked but how else are they gonna squeeze 870 pages into 2 hours and 15 minutes? This franchise deserves the extra attention LOTR got, IMO. I would gladly sit through a 3 hour Harry Potter film, and I know I am not the only one.

I attribute the uneven pacing to the fact that this is the only of the 7 screenplays not written by Steve Kloves. Adding to the oddness is that they chose to make the longest book the shortest movie.

The thing that struck me the most is that with so much cut, how did Kreacher make the cut?

Something tells me Deathly Hallows might answer that... :monkey3

That bugged me at first, then I remembered the fire had died down to just the embers in GoF. Since the fire was just fine in OotP, he would appear in the flames. The GoF version was NOT how I pictured it reading the books, OotP was.

I'll buy that. and yes, I agree that the OotP version was much more like I had it pictured in the books.

Memnoch, so is it confirmed that it was Kreecher that was saved from the cutting room floor? I heard some rumors that it was Grawp. I like the idea that it was Kreecher though. For some reason I'd never thought of that.

That is what I have heard as well. Apparently he wasn't in one of the drafts of the screenplay and Rowling told them, you can do that, but then you would be screwed for part 7.

Yea, spoilers........

I also think it was kreacher. I think that the elf helped sirius' brother get the locket form the bottom of the cup at the end of HBP. So they needed that character.
