HT DX05 - Indiana Jones - in-hand images

Mine landed today. Holy ____ was this worth the price. My only in-hand complaint is the profile of the sculpt isn't very good. I am not even sure it is the sculpt but the way the head sits on the neck. It looks weird.

That collar is going back. They sent me a return label. Was kind of hoping I could just exchange the defective bits since I like the headsculpt/paint I got. Oh, well.

So, overall I'm not what you would call 1000% satisfied. I'd say I'm looking at Indy as a 6.5-7/10.

It doesn't help that I already have the Belloq idol pedestal, so any novelty with the HT version is just not there for me. Indy's proportions really bug too. If there's one thing that I would call a big time miss by HT it's the choice of body, combine that with the smallish head and he really looks out of whack.

I used the Map Room gear and staff of Rah to upgrade my Map Room Indy, very happy there... I assume at this point that I'll use the HT figure for a Streets of Cairo look, and try the jacket on my existing bash that has an repainted SS head. So really, while not perfect in my eyes I will be using many of the parts to mix and match.

Yup. It's just, and I mean JUST, small enough for me to not be bothered, but it is there.

I'd say for the price, mine came to 242 or so shipped, I really should have passed, but I just love the character so damn much... I put Indy in my holy trinity of childhood movie characters along with Vader and Superman, so it's almost impossible for me not to be lured in.

I know what you mean, this set inspired me to try and put together the perfect Indy. So I have been picking up custom bits and a new body for the last couple of weeks. It's ended up costing me a fortune!

As for the nose rub, yeah it looks tiny, I know the way these things are more visible in photos than in person, mine (2nd head) was really bad so I sent it back.

Yeah, got it loose a couple years back at TA. Popped off the cap and sanded it way down so it could just slide right into the turban.

The body doesn't bother me. I think it looks good. And I don't understand all this talk about the head being to small? Maybe when he has his hat hair on?? But then you put his hat on to fill I out. With his reg hair he looks as normal and the next.

Maybe I just got one of those bloated head sculpts people are talking about?!

But this is again my only jones so I have nothing to compare it to. Just pics of the others jones out there. ?

It's funny, I futz and change the eyes and then I'm happy again. It's a weird figure that way.... Runs off to find paper clips.

I have to admit it's not 100% perfect, but I think alot of it is the jacket is off as well, once I switched to the Sovereign Studios jacket, I see more Indy now
