That looks great Cr0w! :clap

Is that repainted? Or just a bit of gloss for a "sweat" factor? The weathering on the clothes looks great too.

Sorry but it's my first time seeing those pics. I've been paying more attention to this and the "which 1/6 Indy to buy" thread as I'm considering getting one myself.

If there's a post you could point me to or PM what you did to make it look so great, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I agree. The sculpt can look like Ford if you catch it just right...

Thanks! It's an almost total repaint. I touched up the skin tone a bit, then darkened the stubble, went over certain spots with a reddish pink mix to give him a flushed look and to bring out the scar on the chin, painted over the guyliner, and then added a layer of varnish over him to give the sweaty look.

The jacket is the old SS Raiders Indy jacket with some weathering done to it, and I basically just dirtied up the shirt and pants.

Thanks for th info man!

Taking out the guy liner really did wonders then with everything else you did to the sculpt with the paint I think really pulled it all together.

Seeing your DX Indy makes me want this :lol

Yes, it can.

excellent. people who say that this doesnt look like harrison ford are totally kidding themselves. in certain lighting i find that he is spot on to ford. im pretty sure some people here need to get there eyes checked if they seeing someone else other then ford here. its obvious HT got it right. not that it cant be improved, but if they never made another indy that will never bother me as this is near perfect.

Personally I think the main "problem" (if you want to call it that) with Hot Toys, and other companies, is this: Their sculpts are idealized. Imperfections, etc that are present in the actual person's face and features are toned down. Indy is no exception. Other examples include Barnie Ross (Stallone), and Loki from the Avengers. Just my two cents.

Looks great, Cr0w.

Funny that of all things, HT's paintjob is one of the main elements that seems to be adversely affecting the likeness (the eyeliner/PERS combo being the worst offender). I would love to see an uncolored version of this sculpt, like how we see many of Trevor's, to really be able to judge the likeness.

the eyeliner is what definitely affects the likeness imo. I saw quite a few pages back how someone removed that and added some red to his cheeks and it looked almost spot on to Ford. Any idea how to do this? Atleast removing the eye liner? I'm going to pick one of these up now that I saw that one.

Yes it is, And I agree. Its not mine, but since you asked about an unpainted one, I though I'd post that pic.

Thanks Mr.E. It looks definitely better than the painted one (never thought I'd say that about an HT figure!). But there is still something not quite right about the sculpt. Does he look too chiseled? Too angular? I think of HF as having a softer face, especially in his younger days. And something about the mouth and lips that also doesn't seem quite right. Maybe not cheeky enough? That would affect the mouth as well...

So hard to put my finger on it, but it's just not quite right. Better unpainted, but still not 100%.

Honestly, I got the jacket and the original SSC Raiders Indy from MonkeyRobotMaster, so I'm not sure what he did with it. I do know that it was apparently bunched up around his elbows for a while and he either drybrushed some paint on it or did other weathering to give it the wrinkled look on the arms, but other than that I'm not sure. I did a little work on the pockets and other details here and there, which was just drybrushing some light brown/desert sand paint over the stitching and such. I can't speak for MRM as to what else he did with it though.

Glad you like it, I'm really happy with how he turned out. I think this is the most work I've ever put into a 1/6 figure.

IMO HT did a great job on the DX Indiana, its not perfect but its easily a 90% Harrison Ford likeness :)

So it may be a little too much if one were to saaaay ask you to do the mods for them if they were to buy the DX Indy??

:stick

:lol

Honestly, if I did commissions I would in a heartbeat, because it was really fun. I don't take on any work because a.) it's a hobby, and I keep hobby and work separate, and b.) I'm never 100% happy with what I do, so I'm constantly tweaking and fixing stuff, so my OCD nature would probably keep me working on it for months on end.

I've just seen how far behind some customizers here have gotten and I don't even want to even consider going down that road. I did it once years ago and I started to hate it once it became work.

I hear you man. I feel the same in that I really only work on stuff when I have the time and feel like it. it's a hobby, not a job. For some the hobby is the job, but like you, I think I'd lose interest in the hobby of sculpting/painting if I had to do it

Either way man, you're Indy looks great man. Bravo! :clap

It's very thin, so it sits on the figure well. I'm sure some sandpaper and a little paint will go a long way with it.

I know MRM was going through a divorce, so he's probably not going to be too easy to get ahold of, unfortunately.

I was gonna ask him the same thing. Well to bad. You did a knock out job on that cr0w. It's proof positive to all the naysayers that while the sculpt still may not be 1000% on it could be made to look damn frickin' close. Great job on the rest of the mods too.

Is anyone out there able to repaint and weather this guy up to cr0w's standard? If so PM ME!!! Me and Gipetto need a reason to go and pick one of these up!:wink1:
