Has anyone heard from Chris? Has anyone received anything from him?

What is up with his email being dead?

He has taken a lot of money from people and so far has not delivered and getting a response from him is next to impossible.....

A little response from him would go a long way in calming everyone's fear......

There is no need to panic. Chris delivered the good for the Joker and Bale heads. No reason to think there is any problem.

I don't wanna sound like an ass or start trouble, but is anyone else a little let down they haven't actually gotten one here where the head was commissioned to begin with, yet people who bought them from him on ebay are already getting them? I mean didn't people here already pay?

I still haven't been able to contact Chris either so please if anyone is successful, let us know.

Who has gotten the head from ebay? None of the feedback on his ebay account is related the House head custom. As far as I know, no one has received this head from Chris. In any event, I think everyone need to just calm down. He is probably busy with his day to day work.

Well I'm not freaking out or panicing, but I have been in similar situations before that 90% of the time do not work out, or have a poor outcome, and the simple answer is always communication. I think thats all any of us are saying is the problem.

I had an artist at another forum that owed people work for 6 months, the understading was it would have arrived within a week or two. Then he cut communication with everyone. I in retrospect was a bit of an ass but it finally envoked a responce(the only one anyone got) and i got my work owed. Unfortunately the people who didn't speak up are still waiting on there stuff over a year later. Most can't get there money back either because there is a 6 month rule or w/e with credit cards and filing a claim.

I'm not saying this is at all the situation here with Chris, I am however a bit frustrated when someone makes an agreement with you, and then doesn't respond to your messages for over 2 months when they clearly have time to do other things like ebay, or update facebook etc. When you have time to do leisure activities, you should be responsible enough to contact the people you are engaged in a commitment with.

When I buy something or start a commission, its under the impression that item would arrive within at most, a year's time. I can't wait 2-3 years for something to actually work out. I'm 23 years old, I don't know where I will be in 3 years, I maybe in another country working some crazy job, I maybe dead. It also seems from the 3 times I have seen this thing happen this year alone, it is from the artist trying to take on far more work then any one person is capable of doing.

Again not looking for trouble or saying this is the deal with Chris, it just seems he definately needs to adress everything outstanding with his plan of attack to put us at ease.

Because even if he knocks out 4 Ghostbusters, Dr Who, Summer Glau, House, and 6 Million Dollar Man in the next 6 months, the Jack Torrence or Milla people are going to be upset about the wait. And its when that happens those people will start panicing and really complaining, and I'd hate to see a repeat of what happened to Les not long ago.

I think when someone takes over $200 of my money, and holds it for several months, at the very least I am entitled to be able to email them to ask questions. Chris is making more trouble for himself by not being more forthright with information.

Yes, but the Joker and Bale weren’t commissions…he did those before he came here.

I think he had those already in the works prior to taking on all the commissions......I dont have a problem with waiting for things but to just disappear with everyones money is not cool. I know some people have been waiting for over a year and that is not right.

Combine the wait with his disappearance I understand why people are getting concerned.

I dont think we need a mouthpiece for Chris we need Chris to come on here and communicate with people....

I sent him some other heads to paint while he's doin' up the House ones, and I have in fact heard from him via e-mail.

So I'm not gonna tell you guys to be patient or chill or anything like that. Just wanted to say that he has been in contact, and is not dead. :gun:rotfl

So why doesn't he come on here and let people know what is going on. Those that have sent him money months and months ago with no current updates are getting a little frustrated with the situation.....

i dont care if he delivered joker and bale... that was like nearly a year ago. my main concern is over that fact that he has neglected to respond to anything from anyone whos paid him and he's on ebay trying to sell more goods....

I personally want a refund because I'm not crazy about the House sculpt, it didn't meet my expectations (sorry, just my opinion) that could be done through Paypal in just a couple minutes, but so far my email has been ignored.

Hey, maybe somethings come up, family or health issues. I have no problem cutting the guy a little slack. I know what it's all about, it took me 2 months to get to some email only because I couldn't manipulate my fingers well enough. I'm sure Chris will come through. I just hope everything is well for him & his family

I bought into the House sculpt after reading this post:

I never want to force anyone! Hopefully it won't be an issue. :D

Check out my website CHowes.com, read my Figures.com interview and look at my Joker heads painted by Kuato to see the kind of quality I bring and to learn a bit about me, your humble sculptor...:lol

Hopefully you'll see you can commit with confidence. I always post WIP photos and ask for input..... and I actually listen! If you see the end result and say, "what a piece of crap!" I won't hold you to your commitment. So, worry not, my friend.

I still honestly don't think he's any kind of scammer, I'm a creative person, I know the pitfalls of taking on too much work and getting overwhelmed. My showing up in this post and the Attention Chris Howes thread is because I tried to contact Chris for a refund and recieved no answer and I'm pretty sure it's been a couple weeks since I tried. Then I saw the House head for sale on ebay, and it was just a little off-putting.

I don't have any reason to believe that Chris is ripping people of. I just want a little bit more communication.

I agree. Even thought this is a hobby, it does not mean basic courtesy is optional and I feel Chris has been extremely rude by not responding to people.

Being an artist is not a licence to be unprofessional.

Folks
I wasn't trying to get a p***ing contest going. I just figure everything will be resolved in time. Life extends beyond work & hobbies. Unforeseeable things happen. Maybe this is one of those things.
I'm not worried,

I'm not worried either. I'm sure we will all have our heads soon and all this ranting will come to an end. Several pages of ranting are not going to help Chris chime in either. It's just going to stroke egos and keep Chris even further away.

Yeah, but he does need to be accountable. Ignoring emails and not giving updates/upkeeping communications when he doesn't deliver on promises is all this needs, but he's still not really doing that. When I saw the House sculpt and emailed him for a refund, I was ignored. Does that really seem fair? I don't think you should categorize this as ranting, you're being a bit too much of an apologist for someone who isn't delivering. All most people want is to be kept in the loop, which I think is very fair.
