Wow, guys!

This is going way beyond I thought it should.

Filip629 is right. The only reason I asked is solely because of cost. I would have both if I could.

My dad use to tell me that you can not argue taste because everyone's is different and boy, was he right?

Some people love Kirby Hulk PF, like myself, some hate it. I think the new Hulk Maquette is great but the pose is a little weak, but I'm sure plenty of people will love it.....

Who cares? I just wanted to know people's opinion. I was curious. That will not influence me in the end because I love everything in my collection and if it comes down to me selling Hellboy II PF and Mark I Maquette to be able to afford the new Hulk, I will be unhappy that I have to get rid of anything but I have to figure out what I like most.

I'm a huge Hulk fan and if I can get the maquette and keep the PF, so be it...

REGARDLESS of anyone says, I think the Hulk PF rocks and it is my favorite piece in my humble collection, although 90% of what I have is movie related.

I just hope that Sideshow will make the maquette affordable enough.

Cheers and have a great collecting week :duff

Amen Bear. The pieces in your collection should always reflect what YOU like. I think you more than answered your own question. Given how much you like the PF, it's a wise choice to keep it.

I use to own the PF Hulk and Sold it. Wish I still had it even though I am not a huge fan of the Kirby style. It really is IMO one of the best statues SS has ever done. The good outweighed the bad.

As far as some on here complaining about the PFs boring pose I would like to say that I myself have never been a huge fan of the PF pose. However are you guys saying this Maquette pose is exciting? Personally I think it's even more boring the then PF.

I think in the end It will come down to how good or bad the Avengers film is. If it sucks then I would not want the maquette over the PF no matter how great the sculpt may be. Why would one want the Avengers Hulk to represent the Hulk in their collection if the film sucks? If the film is great then you just have to ask yourself which one you like more.

It really is a toss up of for me. THe PF is a great representation of the Kirby Hulk and this new Maquette seems to be a great version of the film. I guess I give the edge to the PF because it is an all around more universal version of the Hulk. The Maquette is pigion-holed into just one film.

Personally I like the Comiquette better then both. Much better pose and I love the ripped muscles.

if you're up to date, you can positively say now that the avengers does not suck(currently tracking at 96% on RT, which is dark knight territory). many are in agreement that this new hulk is by far the best hulk ever translated into film, saying that he's a revelation and stole every scene he's in.

as for which version is more "universal"... here's a quick test, when you think of superman now, do you think of the original character created by siegel & shuster? or did the christopher reeve version pop up first in your mind?

ironman was 2nd rate superhero before the film turned him into a bankable global superstar. thor was a silly concept before the film made him accessible and somewhat cool. and who the frick have heard of blade before wesley snipe showed up slicing and dicing on the screen? and on and on... from the comics they were born, but through films their status are elevated and forever made iconic for the world.

film is just a more powerful and universal medium, and for that reason the film version hulk > comic hulk by default.

Well I did not know that the reviews are up at RT. Good to here it's getting love. However just because the critics like it does not mean it's good. I tend to think it will be.

As for your test. I think it depends on weather or not you read comics because everyone you mentioned I think of the comic versions first. Except Blade. Never read him in the comics so yeah I think on Snipes. But when I think HULK, Thor, Spider-man, BATMAN, Cap. America. I always have the comic version pop up. Because that is how I first was introduced and they tend to look better in the comics. Only Iron Man is basically the same looking from Comic to film (though there are plenty of differences)

Now 20 years ago I would have thought of the Reeves Superman because that was the only version I knew. Now I picture the comic.

I think you are way off about the films versions having an advantage. To those who don't read the comics then yes. The film version is what they think of. But if you are a Hulk fan you would probably want something that was a little more Universal and not just one film version Hulk. Now if I was worried about showing my collection off to Average Joe perhaps I would have nothing but film versions though I would tend to argue that some characters will always be pictured as their comic version (Batman, Cap America, Spider-man) but I collect for me and not average Joe.

Now if I love the Hulk in the Avengers film I could see being tempted to get the new hulk but I have a ton of other hulks in my collection so it would be just another version. But If I could only have one I would never pick just a movie version.

When I see these photos, it is very hard to get rid of my Hulk PF for the movie version.......

If I really like the Maquette, I will try to get it and keep the PF as well....

We'll see.....

First I would like to see the final pics of the new hulk as well as the price. But I still don't think I can sell my PF Hulk. Instead I would try to get the new one too :yess:

The PF is FAR from my ideal Hulk but, it's a beauty, no doubt.

The Avengers (film) is a blockbuster. Hulk is without a doubt the main attraction of the film and this piece is going to be the definitive Avengers (movie) Hulk collectible. I would not be surprised if this piece surpasses the PF in terms of popularity/collectibility due to the exposure and mass amount of people that are going to have emotional attachment to this version of the Hulk.

Best bet if you have the $$$$ keep the PF and get the maquette....that's what I would do if I owned had the PF. But if you gotta be like The Kurgan, i would seriously consider selling the PF. (after seeing the full reveal the Maquette...of course)

Agree.....

The only thing that puts me off a bit is the pose.....I wish they could have done a more Hulk-like pose, instead of a walking pose.....(really strange choice)

As boring and some people think the PF pose is, I still think it is better than the maquette....but let's wait and see the full reveal.....

Can't wait

I agree, the pose is very strange. Perhaps becasue the iten is so big there were not may choices. Arms above head would make it to tall. Arms behind back ala Hulk CQ then there is no stand of shelf that could handle it.

I like the pose. Arms apart, head and waist turned slightly, make him seem like he's looking for something to smash. The PF looks like he's just lumbering foward awkwardly. It looks like he's swinging his arms from side to side while trying to move forward. There's no anger or purpose to the pose for me. The maquette gives me more of a looking for someone to strike feel. That's just my opinion on the topic.

hmmmmm. You make a good point and have allowed me to see the maquette in a whole new light.

However I do think the PF looks like he is getting ready to hit something. Just veeeeeeeeery slowly
