A DDT is a fairly common professional wrestling maneuver where the victim is put in a headlock, and then dropped headfirst into the ground with the weight of both bodies adding to the impact. Bed bugs cannot withstand the force due to their small size, hence it is a fairly reliable extermination method that does not require the occupant to leave for several days (as is the case with fumigation methods).

:rotfl good one there, :clap

Lmao. Bed bugs can however counter that maneuver with a sleeper hold made famous by Brutus the Barber Beefcake. Before a wrestler grabs someone's head for a DDT a wrestler must quickly maneuver himself around to the back of his opponent. There he applies a sleeper hold which is kind of like a choke hold but instead of killing his opponent the sleeper hold calmly puts the opponent into a gentle slumber. After the ref raises the subdued wrestlers arm and then drops it and it goes down 3 times the opponent will remain asleep for several days. It's a bed bugs best defense against DDTs. While you are sleeping they are also free to feast on your blood.

:rotfl :goodpost: Beware the counter!

So your recommendation is to ship the bedbugs to other collectors around the country?

I would assume that if you laid out the boxes (open) and the styrofoam halves (open) when it is fumigated, that they could be salvaged afterwards. You'd need to ask the people who do it if there is a problem with that, or a health risk by keeping the boxes around after that, but I would assume that if it works on the rest of the apartment, it should work on the boxes.

Nice, gotta see if my land*****es will pay first though. Having to do the whole 3 story house, I'd estimate would first off require tons of work and cost, eh ~$4,000. If they do the convection heating method which requires you to do no work ~$7,000

I can't remember the exact temperature but I know the cold kills them. I am not sure how cold it gets where you are but come winter you could put the boxes outside or a night, that will kill them.

Lmfao. Ha. That'd be a mighty evil scheme. Maybe an exterminator should use it to increase profits. They'd have to sell locally though. Lejun, I bet you do that you evil bastard. Spider-man comiquette $500? Giddy-up! Local pick-up only? Ok. Gotcha *****.

Btw - the comic Chew is the sole reason I have made a conscious decision to start cursing A LOT again. I had stopped for a while so as not to offend people but that comic is ****ing funny. Suck it dickwads.

Sorry, but my first thought was that your topic title sounds like a Country Western song.

Get a professional, they have special tools that freeze those things. Good luck.

The bugs will return after a short time. Their eggs can survive tough environmental conditions...

My suggestions is to throw away all the boxes because they are likely to harbour eggs which may go undetected.

BURN IT WITH FIRE NAOW!

I don't like the wording of article 27-2019 so much. Means I probably have to help. Dammit.

Yeah, you're gonna have to help a bit. :lol

BTW, I'm an exterminator. Trust me when I say you're going to have to throw almost everything out. There's no fumigating or anything that will save your boxes if you have bed bugs. They have to go.

My company doesn't even deal with them anymore, because of the cost and effort required. Most of the time they recur quickly because the homeowners don't follow our instructions and pretty much nuke everything they have from orbit.

They can be killed by extreme heat of 130 to 140 degrees fahrenheit. I don't know if this is possible seeing as you are living in an apartment.

A powerful insecticide that was banned in the late 70's because it was making through the food web to eagles. It made eagle eggs very fragile and they would break. Killed eagles. No eagles in NYC, we need that stuff and I was an environmental studies major in college.

The World Health Organization has been calling for a lift on the ban of DDT since 2006 to control malaria. Mosquito populations, easily controlled by fogging DDT, are the leading cause of the disease. Millions of people have died each year since the ban. The WHO has also questioned the science (or lack thereof) that led to the ban.
