You were dreaming if you thought the Giants had a chance!

It's a great time to be a New England sports fan: Sox, Pats, Celtics, and hopefully the Bruins this year!

It's still a long road ahead though, thankfully we have one playoff bye, but really, it's a great season for sure, but will suffer if we somehow blow it when it really counts.

i don't wish to ruffle any feathers, so i won't quote any specific poster in this thread, but as a reminder.. the patriots and belechik got fined and lost a draft choice for cheating against the jets in week 1. this was not the first time the patriots were caught filming defensive play calling signals as they were fined last year for doing the same to the packers. this was clearly a rules violation and the patriots knew this practice was not allowed but continued to do so.

everybody in new england is celebrating tonight but as far as i'm and many others are concerned, the 'perfect' season just accomplished by the patriots is just as tainted as baseball's home run record.

it sure sucks when the integrity that used to be associated with winning fairly goes right out the window in place of getting a win or breaking a record by any means possible. i weep for professional sports but mostly for the beloved fans of both baseball and football. :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

The real issue with it all is the fact that more people than we ever care to know, cheat in some capacity. Sox players are being alleged for steroids in that list right now and are the last people I'd expect to do anything, and it's only alleged, but still. The Colts cheated against the Pats and boosted the crowd noise in their game but everyone being anti-Pats after the camer bs, CBS steps up and says it was them. You can't trust anything you just have to either enjoy things at face value or not enjoy them.

call me full of bs, but i still value the old saying, it's not whether you win or lose, but it's how you play the game.

This post alone now makes me hope that the Patriots go to the Super Bowl and lose embarassingly.

I don't think you're full of bs to say that or believe in it, I do to, I think anyone would just be kidding themselves to think that people cheating make up only a small percentage of sports. Hell it goes from players to officials, all over the board. The increasing ammount of sports betting and all, I'm sure things are rigged to favor certain outcomes.

Like I said, best approach is to just forget about what does or doesn't happen and take what you see on the fields or courts or whatever.

I highlighted the word that meant the death of fair play in sports...The minute BIG MONEY got involved in sports...Fair Play...Out the window..:monkey2

P-A-T-S!!!

:fireworks :fireworks :fireworks :fireworks :fireworks

Hell yeah! :rock

Great game too, they had me worried there for a moment... But they really pulled it out of the fire and gave me the ending I was looking for. It's been a great season to be a Patriots fan.

And it really made me feel better about my other NFL team being on the bottom of the heap... (The Dolphins). :monkey2

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Patriots leave the tarp off the field during a rain storm the day before their playoff game againt the Colts? The Colts then, had the better air attack and the Pats thought this was a good way to slow them down.:monkey3
Outcome to that game: Pats won.

Cowboys are going to win the Super Bowl, so all this stuff is useless.

You're quite the humorist.

How great was that game? The Randy Moss drop will be a great companion piece to NFL films when they show the pass that clinched the record for him and Brady.

Come from behind win, most points scored in a season, most TD's thrown in a season, most TD recpt's in a season, and first 16-0 record, all in one game.

I just feel sorry for anyone in the NFC that goes to the Bowl....

It is pretty sad that the Super Bowl will be the AFC Championship. But it's been that way the last couple years. The Cowboys are the 3rd best team in the NFL, but they are not in the same league as the Pats or even Colts.
