Wow, next week already! :google

I gotta transfer some funds! :rock

So there will only be one dio? For the 1 special edition right?

Yes, I'm only making 1 Dio and it's going with the SE figure.
Also, I'm working on a back drop of the london sky. We'll
see how that turns out.

If you haven't seen it on Johns Boot25 thread, here's
the first pic back on the Battle Damaged paint app.

I think it speaks for itself....:clap:clap:clap

Well folks, got the Battle Damaged head in and guess what??
Today is the day I give 24 hour notice.

He's finished, I took a bunch of pictures and
he looks incredible. He's so good I seriously was considering
keeping him, but I need the money big time. So, I'm going to list him tomorrow at 6pm MST.
I will have a set starting price and a larger buy-it-now just like
my Book of Eli figure. Keep in mind, this is the figure and Dio.
This has a special custom body made from HT Comedian & Perseus body parts.
This is the only one that has full tatts, the regular releases will only have arm tatts.
The Dio was built from the ground up. Sorry, I couldn't make it to
scale, because it would have been 3 feet wide..:lol. So I made it
a reasonable size. That way you can still put in on a shelf.
So you get the figure, dio, he also comes with Crossbow,
c-4 arrow, Axe & dog tags, cross & St Patrick. An engraved name plate and COA.
COA looks like this.

Hopefully the people that have expressed a lot of interest in this figure will see this in time.

Hey, did you realize that Van Zan goes swinging in with his axe, pick
first at the Bull Dragon. After I watched that scene like 10 times(doing pose research),
it finally sunk in. I first took this picture and realized it was wrong.
So I took a bunch of new ones, holding it the correct way.

Here's a little more close-up to see Johns great paint app .....

Some interesting things I found out off a Reign of Fire Press kit ** Cough ** which I'm not suppose to have ** Cough.

They removed a lot more from that movie than I thought.
2 things they took out because they thought it gave away Van
Zan's death to easy. One; he gives his Dog Tags to Alex before
they split up to get the big Dragon. So Alex knows he's not coming back. Because Van Zan only gives her Dog Tags of the dead.
Two: He hangs his Dog Tags, cross & St Patrick medal on the
bottom of the smoke stack ladder like a memorial(so I did that on my dio, but up top where you can see it). In the film version
they show only him hanging his pack, gun, knife & holster.

A bunch of other stuff too. This Press kit has some scenes on it that
you don't see in the movie. They don't show the whole thing, but you can tell where its going. Before they get to the Bull Dragon, they
go into the sewers to get to the train tunnels. They must run into trouble there, because Van Zan is even more beat up after he comes
out of there. They also run across other Dragons that the bull has
been killing to feed on. That coupled with what Rory(guy who worked on the film) mentioned. It seems like it could have been a much better film.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this labor of love.
I think he really turned out special.

I'll also put up a sales thread.

Thanks.
Ike

Thanks, I really had a great time on this one and it was a lot
of work, but I think you can see that..:)

Unbelievable!! I'm still interested, but in the regular figure. Are those going for sale tomorrow as well?

No, John is in RI getting hit by a Hurricane...:lol
So he doesn't have all the heads done and sent, only the one
so far. He also is now working for Dragon I guess, so it may start
to take much longer than normal. I'm hoping he knocks the rest out
soon, but he couldn't promse a speicific date. I'll beg him some
more, but he said also, that he has several other heads in front of
mine, so they get done first...because he's a good guy like that.

dang he turned out super nice ike-con! been following this since your first post. awesome work bro

Man, that looks awesome! :google

My only concern is the length of the neck. Would there be any way to adjust that?

If you win it, I can grind down the neck and neck peg even more,
but he actually looks good. I think that's just because of the
slight angle of the photo. But either way, I can adjust it more.

Thanks Jin. I will say this. You really have to be patient with
those damn stencils...:lol

Sometimes it would take 30 minutes
to get it right and have it stay on long enough to airbrush.
It took about 4 trys to get used to it. But a lot of profanity
was heard in my household on those days.

But it was great, it really pushed me. It made me think
outside the 1/6 box...:)

I now consider myself an innovator with weathering.
I use a slurry, a wet dry mix. In this guys case, ash, paint thinner
and black & gray paint. Then I brush it on the clothes and seal it with
a flat clear coat. Though next time, I'll use more ash, doesn't stick
out enough for me. I figured since Van Zans pants were all but black
from ash by the end, it only seemed right.

:hi5:

Looks like a regular customer got the 1st bid in.

Just so you know, I had to set a reserve to cover all
my cost on this guy. But I can tell you it was about half
way between the min and buy-it-now.

:wave Good luck.

My only concern is the length of the neck. Would there be any way to adjust that?

I took another 1/4 inch off the neck peg end and sanded the
neck width down another mm. This is as far as it can go.
And, I had to dirty his neck & back of the head again so it blends.
If I didn't like this, I'd think I was doing work or something.

but, it looks much better from the side, where you get the
giraffe effect the most. Well, it is no more. It is very tight now,
I'm affriad to turn the head to much, for it will certainly scrap the
weathering and dirt effects off.

Now say it's perfect...say it! :lol :lol :lol :lol

:hi5:

Are the head on the other regular figures being paint by John aswell?

Man I'm even more interested in just the head than the full figure! :lol Especially since John painted it!

Yes, the heads on the other figures are being painted
by John. But you'll have to buy a head and have him paint it
for you, if you're only getting the head. Because I won't be selling
any heads by themself that are already painted..

Hey Ike...can you post the full figure with the clothes? So curious after reading this whole thread. Thanks!
