I Made a Stupid EBay blunder...What's your worst??

Well folks I had finally saved up enough cash over a long haul to buy one of those 18" NECA Aliens...I found one on a French site and used buy now. It even said special promotion.

So anyways...after I checked the Babelfish translation I thought you 'beut!!! Until I realsied I had just purchased the 18cm one...which I already had!!!!!!! DAMMIT!!!!!! I know it doesn't seem like alot of money but with 4 kiddies you have to pick and choose. I have sent them a letter asking if they might let me pay the remaining to buy the big one from them but they are not answering. So I guess I lost out.

So....who else has made a stupid stupid blunder like this on EBAY or elsewhere in their collecting?

I made a bid at the last minute and mistakenly put in a comma instead of a full stop. $50 suddenly became 50,00 and it somehow meant 50,000. Not that the bidding went that high, but it meant I was going to win whatever anyone else bid. I forget how high the bidding went but I won. I explained to the seller and he was absolutely understanding about it and let me off the hook.

I didn't know at the time I could have just hit 50 and enter. Live and learn. Even so, the keys are right next to each other. You would think ebay would make the dash replace the dot. It's because they haven't yet that adds support to the moniker Evilbay.

same here. i've ended up having to use money orders more than paypal there and i've never ever had any problems with those.
sometimes it's faster than paypal because my bank can be a d1ck about international transfers.
has anybody here had issues with money orders?

I've never had any problems using eBay, paypal, money orders or personal checks. I use paypal most of the time now since that's what most ask you to do. I've only had problems with buyers and sellers personally.

I remember winning an auction for a couple of dollars so I just sent cash and the seller gave me a neutral because of it. I told her that there wasn't any problem with her getting the money so why complain about it. Silly.

That's been my problem lately. Seems everything I sell gets a hold put on it and I can't receive my funds until it's been delivered. More often, I have to wait the 21 days. Paypal are d!@ks.
