Who's Bob?

Let me get one thing clear, movies are a huge part of life and I love films from all eras.

Anyway, not to belabor the point. but movies alone do not make up an era. It has to do with a little of everything.

Movies, music, change, trends, innovation, style. The whole shebang.

I just feel that having gone through the 70's, 80's, 90's and now the post 2000 years the 80's really stand out as a great era for all thing in general.

You can feel the same about the 90's and go and make that thread and prove that point.

But we here like what we like. And it is your right to like what you like.

like i said, it is not my fault for being born in the 80s, I did not have the luck you guys have of being born in the 60s or 70s, i was a baby in the 80s

but you know what, I will probably outlive everyone in this thread haha :nana:

I dunno, you keep running your mouth (fingers) like that..... :devil

100% sarcasm

blackmask.....you made your own thread where you can re-live the wonderful 90s, why are you in here talking ____ still? :lol

I almost sold mine a few years ago, I have the Sears receipt ($25.99) to go with the box and it's up around 9.0. :rotfl

Ski

with receipt :) cool

No, I haven't. Mine is in the box, but I cut out the file card. It is complete in a 8-9 condition box, though. The figure itself is a 9-10 condition. Never really played with.
I went to a store called Service Merchandise in 1986, where they had one Optimus Prime in the display case, when every other store was out. I asked the manager if I could buy it and he said no, because they needed it for the display. I said, if you aren't going to get any more in, as all of the other stores are out, what is the point of displaying something that you will never sell again? He still said no. He was such a prick.

lol was Service Merchandise a shop in the states? Dam, even megatron loose is worth alot now

Yes, Service Merchandise was a shop in the states. They has brick and mortar and a mail order catalog. They were similar to Best Products. I suppose they were inspired by the business model of Sears Roebuck, except that Service Merchandise and Best had lower prices. The stores went out of business in the early 90's, perhaps in part due to competition from Costco.
By the way, Service Merchandise never got any more Optimus Primes in after I saw that display. I was right.
You would look at the item in the display case and take a ticket hung there to the counter and they would bring you the item from the warehouse behind the counter.

It just bugs me how some people can be like him. Yeah, I think the Masterpiece Optimus Prime would help me get over it, with an original prime, too. I've got Megatron, Soundwave, Rumble, Ravage, the other two cassetes I can't think of, Sideswipe, Jetfire, Bluestreak, Constructicons, I think Grimlock and the stegosaurus. Also I have one of the ones that jumps up and transforms itself. I was mostly into GI JOE, so I couldn't get every Transformer.I never wanted ALL of them, anyway. I only wanted the really neat ones. I have all of the joes up until 88, and I think everything GI JOE 3 3/4 up until 87 except for the Space shuttle Defiant. I really liked the toys in the 80's, but I really missed the Mego figures.

You have a link to any pics of your stash? Gi Joe was called Action Force in the UK, yeah they were cool. The UZI carbine sounds great, all we had were potato guns:rotfl

Hmm never seen Voltron, the intro looks good.

How about this :)

Voltron was great. My friend has the Lion set. I almost got one. His was "acquired"

I still have my Voltron set from the 80's. I have given away lots of my other 80's toys away to younger relatives (with much regret today), but Voltron I just couldn't give away or even sell. It looks too nice.
