I am a letter carrier and do my very best to provide the best CS possible. I always go to the door to check if my customers are home.
It is a shame some of the stories I have read here, That all you need is a few a,,holes to make us all look like dumb, lazy workers.
Not Far. Yes. Yes. No.
Any more questions?
I believe they are all individually owned so the prices will vary, here a small box is $120 a year and a large box is $200 a year. I think there is a medium box option too, I cant remember.
For me it is 100% worth because of the quality and convenience of it. My packages are always safe and sound, everything gets signed for, never miss a package and they text and email me when my stuff arrives. Its great. Its also great because its a street address, so none of that 'cant deliver to PO Box' crap.
Thanks. That may be worth it for me. Because I HATE waiting in line at the post office. I have one near my house, and two near my work, and the two big ones have a 45 minute line whenever I go 80% of the time. The smaller satellite post office is the one where the guy couldn't sell a girl two stamps, and more times than not, they send me to the larger branch office because they don't have the capabilities to do whatever I want, like mail an international package with insurance.
Speaking of mailing an international package with insurance, I've noticed that now their (USPS) system is completely F'ed. If I sell something on Ebay, which I do often enough, and will ship internationally, I like to print out postage from the paypal/ebay transaction. For some reason, on an international shipment, you can't purchase insurance online, it tells you to go into the post office to do that. So I go ahead and pay for and print out the four 2976 customs slips, using all of the stored information from the transaction. Then when I go into the post office, wait 45 minutes in line, and tell them all I want to do is add $400 of insurance to my already prepaid and prefilled postage forms, when they scan the bar code, none of the information comes up on their computer. So they have to retype everything, figure out new shipping costs, subtract what I already paid (which includes an online discount), and then add insurance. It's so g'damn ricockulously inefficient that we both get frustrated.
I know this isn't the post office worker's fault, but it's been like this for over a year now. And when they ring the postage up again, it's a crap shoot as to whether I get the online discount or not. Once for $400 insurance, which should be something like $5, I had to also pay the difference between online and non-online postage rates in addition to the $5 insurance. And the mean lady behind the counter made it sound like it was my fault somehow. The last time I had to do this, I asked to speak to a manager, explained to her what was happening, why their system was broken, and why I should only be responsible for the cost of insurances, not the difference in rates. The whole process took a good 30 minutes, and I'm sure everyone in line hated my guts for causing a holdup in the line, even though it was just a manager and not one of the workers moving the line. I really hope they get that fixed soon.
So yes, I still believe UPS >> USPS.
I only deal with USPS when I absolutely have to.
