Toylion I love your Lone Ranger figure and Silver the horse set! Is that Lone Ranger the old Gabriel brand figure? I'm a HUGE fan of the Lone Ranger! I'd love to get the Gabriel Lone Ranger and Silver horse set I had as a kid back again. Those gun rigs from Stevostoys are great too! :clap
I'm sure he's going to make some great rig for us for our John Marston figures! I hope to order a rig, the U-shaped back rifle holster, and ammo bandolier from Stevostoys soon.

Great stuff guys! I mentioned our thread in the Red Dead Redemption video game thread, and put the link to our thread there too. Hopefully we'll get even more interested board members to sign on for Sunohc's head sculpt/hat combo, and Stevostoys Marston gun rig! :wave

Thanks JediMike71. That's a kitbashed Lone Ranger using the Playing Mantis reissued Captain Action Set. Here's a photo of both of them unaltered. The Kitbashed one is on a G.I. Joe with the mask cut out of the Captain Action one and a Leather Gun Rig made by Hondo. Stevo makes a Lone Ranger Rig too.

Hi psung4ever, DataPaul use to be a member here and on The 6th Warrior and MWD. I haven't seen him around in a while. But then I just started visiting the borads again myself. Took a 2 year break from 1/6 when I bought a house. Unfortunetly I couldn't keep it in this economy, but now without that expense I can dabble in 1/6 again.

Steve with Stevostoys told me in an e-mail last week on the 21st that "I need to get on it then", after I told him at least 4 board members here were interested in his John Marston Rig. Jen also talked to him, and she asked him about getting on his list for the ammo bandolier, and he told her early this morning:

Never too late! I am going to start work on the proto type tomorrow, and try to get the rig with all its variations added to my site this week, thanks!

:yess:

So it looks like he is about to start on the gun rig for us. If you e-mail him like I did, he will give you a price quote determined by what you want to get from him. As far as I know from when I talked to him, he is going to offer Marston's gun rig with the gun belt and pistol holster. Also there will be the ammo bandolier, and the U-shaped holster/cradle for rifles that Marston wears on his back. :clap Steveostoys also sells many 1/6 scale guns. I want to get a "Winchester" style repeater rifle, and a silver Colt "Peacemaker" pistol for my John Marston figure.

You can e-mail or send Steve a PM here through this board. :)

looks like we pretty much get everything we need for Marston! :yess:

Added ZC Rebecca Cowgirl belt buckle to a brown belt and a WWII Bag I had from an old Indy Custom. Don't remember which figure it came from.

Okay...here's our thread update right from sunohc himself! I am quoting Daniel Cho from his PM to me...after I got his permission to quote him. Thanks Daniel! Here we go...

"Hey Mike,
the pieces I'm getting done are commissions and pieces I had schedule for June and early July.
I'll probably start on John Marston in Mid-July since I still have a couple more private commissions to do
Haha dont worry its on my schedule"

So as Daniel just told me early this morning he will likely begin the work on our John Marston head sculpt/hat combo sculpt in a few weeks! :yess:

That is GREAT news! He also told me for people to continue to post some great pictures that they find of John Marston's head for him here. The more the better! Daniel has told me that the more pictures for reference that he has to work from, the more accurate our John Marston will be for us! :clap

I'll try to e-mail Stevostoys again soon. As far as I know he was going to get started on the Marston gun rig, ammunition bandolier, and back "U-shaped" rifle cradle/holder for us soon. I'll check in with him, and report the news here.

Great news to hear from sunohc! Things are moving ahead nicely! :)

Thanks for keeping us posted Mike. Was wondering how things were moving along.

You're welcome toylion! Hey, I got a favor to ask you in a PM soon. It has to do with some Lone Ranger toys...

Watch your PM inbox soon here. Thanks!

Okay, here's another update from me for my custom John Marston figure! He'll be played in the upcoming movie by...Tom Cruise! :horror

Naww...just joking! :rotfl

I got a standard Truetype body from karmazov80 here, and put the John Marston outfit that I have so far on it. This TT body has that "Tom Cruise" looking head sculpt. It'll stand in until the great head sculpt is finished by sunohc. Here's a few pictures to show my Marston outfit on a standard TT body. I think that the oufit fits much better on this standard TT body, than on the Sideshow Endor Trooper body I had the outfit on when I started. It hangs more naturally I think. I will also replace the vest sometime soon with a better one.

I still have to get a satchel bag, and the John Marston gun rig and back "U-shaped" rifle holster/cradle from Stevostoys. But I've got a good start on my John Marston outfit. :yess:

That's funny Mike, I was on Ebay earlier and stopped to look at a Tom Sculpt from the "Last Samurai" and thought it would make a good Marston if there was'nt a sculpt being made already.

I finally bought this denim jacket because the seller was offering free shipping.

Your Marston is really looking good, like that new body.

Yeah, the Last Samurai Tom Cruise would work okay....but....we're going to be getting a GREAT custom head sculpt from sunohc soon! He should be starting on the sculpt for us in a few weeks.

That's a nice denim jacket Leo! I may want to get one too. I'll send you a PM about it today. The seller shows three different ones in the auction. Which one did you buy from him? Let me know. Thanks! :wave

I bought the black one. It looks pretty nice, going to be hard to cut the sleeves off, lol.

Lord Vicious, that jacket does look perfect. See you haven't cut the sleeves off, lol. Can't wait to see it on the figure.

Okay, you got the black one. Yeah, that is the one the closest in color to the one that Marston wears. I'll get that one too. If anything my John Connor jacket with the cut off sleeves I have now will work out okay for me. But I will try and get that black jacket soon. I'll talk with you more about it soon toylion.

No, I'm waiting 'till I have all the parts and the sculpt so I can send him to somebody more talented than me to finish him (are you listening, Seb? :lol )

I think with Sunohc Headsculpt and that jacket it's going to be one Great looking Figure. As soon as I started play Red Dead Redemption I knew I had to have a 1/6 Marston.

Yeah, me too Leo! I just love Red Dead Redemption! Easily one of my all-time favorite games, and I've played video games since the old Atari 2600 when I was a kid! :wave

I still want to get one of those black jackets. But I'm not too sure about the yellow stitching on it. I don't think Marston's had the yellow stitching. I think his had darker stitching on his denim jacket "vest".

But still, that black jacket you have Leo is great. I may still want to get it, and maybe paint over the stitching with a small brush, like a number "0" brush and make it darker.

Going to have to see how it looks. I think once it's all put together the stitching won't even be noticed. What with his brown pants, boots, rig and shirt I think yellow will be more color coordinated, lol. But a dark brown wash might do the trick. Solid paint might look to stark.

Time to BUMP our thread! It's getting close to being mid-July. So we should be hearing from sunohc soon about the John Marston head sculpt. He told me about a week ago that he should be starting on the head in a few days. If all goes well for him. I really hope it does! :)
