The knife doesn't go in a sheath. He just puts it on his belt next to the satchel and lasso.

I think the boots are brown. And they definately have spurs. :hi5:

Not great, but the pics I can find:

his knife have no sheath? weird....... :horror

what boots did you got for him Lord Vicious? and do you know the height of the boots? was it ankle-height? I know it doesn't really matter cause the pants will cover it anyway, but I was just curious.

thanks

I got in most of my John Marston outfit today from Toy Anxiety! Here's some pictures of it on the Sideshow Star Wars Endor Trooper body I'm using for it. I will of course "weather" the outfit some more. The Hot Toys John Connor Terminator Salvation dark gray jacket came "weathered" a little. I cut off the sleeves, and started to cut up the edges at the shoulders like Marston has his that way. I will "fray" or cut up the fabric at the shoulders some more to get it like Marston's look for it in the game. The long sleeved shirt with the rolled up sleeves is the shirt from the Hot Toys Aldo Raine "Inglorious Basterds" figure. The gray pinstriped pants are from the Hot Toys Iron Man Tony Stark "Mech Test" figure. Wow, they're perfect for John Marston! The boots are tan "weathered" cowboy boots made by Newline Miniatures that I got on Toy Anxiety's site. I will "weather" them some more, and likely make them a little darker. I got the red bandana on his neck from the John Connor Terminator Salvation figure. I actually cut the bandana in half to make it thinner to fit the neck better. The brown gloves came on the Endor rebel trooper figure, and I'll repaint them black. The head sculpt is the Endor rebel trooper's head sculpt. It will have to "stand in" for Marston until we get the great head sculpt of John Marston from Sunohc! :)

I don't have any guns for him yet. I plan on getting a "Winchester repeater" rifle, and a Colt "Peacemaker" pistol from Stevostoys later on when I get the rig from him, and the back U-shaped rifle cradle/holster, and ammo bandolier. I've already bought a big Bowie knife from Stevo that I'll get later on with the Marston rig stuff. I may get the Aldo Raine "leather" satchel, or use one of my Indiana Jones brown satchels for my John Marston figure. I got the body, and the figure stand, and all of the pieces for my outfit from Toy Anxiety. Thanks to them for parting out great figures where I could choose the John Marston outfit to put together!

But hey, it's a start! I think it's looking pretty good so far.

You can see the boots I am using in my pictures. They are the Newline Miniatures tan "weathered" boots. They are full length 1/6 scale cowboy boots that nearly come up to the knees of the Endor trooper figure that is a "stand-in" for me right now. I'm about to get a True Type body, and I'll switch it out. The boots are a light brown, but I plan on weathering them more, and possibly adding a little dark brown paint to them to make them darker. They're great boots! They're made with real leather. I got them on Toy Anxiety's site for about $15.00. Not bad for such a nice pair of boots.

As for Marston's knife, I'm getting a standard big "Bowie knife" from Stevostoys. Yeah, Marston does not have a sheath for his knife. He just sticks it in his belt, like Lord Vicious mentioned earlier, and showed in his pictures.

thank you both of you :bow

by the way Mike, which is the exact bowie knife are you referring to? can you post the link to it?

Received some parts for Marston today, quickly threw it on a TT body but then my camera's battery died, so I had to use my crappy cellphone camera. So please excuse the poor quality.

Also, this is not by any means a (half)finished custom or anything, like I said, just quickly threw everything together to show you guys what I got :wink1:

Here's the link to the picture of the standard Bowie knife I'm getting from Stevostoys.

https://stevostoys.com/paintedBowie.jpg

It is the knife on the far left side on this page of knives at www.stevostoys.com.

https://stevostoys.com/edgedweapons.htm

It is item # 101 - "Cast Metal - Plain Bowie Knife". I'm getting it with the "wood grip". I didn't get one o the other knives with a sheath since I've seen that John Marston does not have a sheath for his knife.

That's a great looking pair of boots, and knife you got Lord Vicious! I like your outfit so far too! Yeah, that bag does look too big. I will get some spurs for my boots later on. I'm getting the standard "broad shoulder" True Type 01 causasian body from a board member here soon. Is that knife the big knife from the Aldo Raine "Inglorious Basterds" figure? When I went to Toy Anxiety they were already sold out of it, and only had the smaller "youth knife" that Aldo carries in the movie.

I'm checking into getting a 1/6 scale horse from Koehler Customs. Here's the link to them.

https://www.koehlercustoms.com/index.html

The horse I want is a black horse that will work great as my "War Horse"! It is their "Raven Flame Horse" with no Indian markings on it about halfway down that page in the link. Solid black. Then, I'll take some light brown/light yellow acrylic paints and paint the tail and mane on the horse to match how the War Horse looks in the game. Awesome!

thanks mate! :hi5:

by the way is John Marston's knife curve or was it straight?

Glad you found a horse you like Jedimike71. Just remember the Flame comes with an Indian blanket, not a saddle. You'll have to buy that separate.

Okay, thanks. I got an e-mail last night from them, and they gave me the price with shipping for that Flame black horse with no Indian markings. It's around $54.00 total. Not too bad for a great 1/6 scale horse! I'll try and get it soon. Thanks again for your help toylion! :wave

OK, got some stuff in the mail today and here's my WIP. Also working on Blondie/Manco.

Close up of detail of his Rig. Bought this over a year ago from DataPaul. Came with a Double Shoulder Rig and Shotgun Holster hanging in the back.

Toylion I love your Lone Ranger figure and Silver the horse set! Is that Lone Ranger the old Gabriel brand figure? I'm a HUGE fan of the Lone Ranger! I'd love to get the Gabriel Lone Ranger and Silver horse set I had as a kid back again. Those gun rigs from Stevostoys are great too! :clap
I'm sure he's going to make some great rig for us for our John Marston figures! I hope to order a rig, the U-shaped back rifle holster, and ammo bandolier from Stevostoys soon.

Great stuff guys! I mentioned our thread in the Red Dead Redemption video game thread, and put the link to our thread there too. Hopefully we'll get even more interested board members to sign on for Sunohc's head sculpt/hat combo, and Stevostoys Marston gun rig! :wave
