I've probably only purchased 5 out of 20 items that I wasn't too sure about. But that was 2 years ago. I have a game plan of what I want my collcetion to look like. My only problem is when something totally stupid happens... LIKE SIDESHOW STOPPING THE 12" LOTR line.. and not finishing the fellowship. :banghead Then in makes me rethink my plan... which gives me more space to work with.

I've had to become very selective myself over the last several months (both space and $$ being issues). Cancelled everything I had on PO - but I HAVE to have the Bezerker PF - so that will most likely be the one and only thing I get for awhile.

you know, i've only been collecting for a couple of years, and i was talking to a collector/businessman in florida the other day, and he had a excellant piece of advise that goes along with jen's quote above.

he said that the secret to staying in this hobby is to not burn yourself out, and be selective in what you buy, not having to purchase everything and need everything, he said that this hobby is like crack,(probably more costly) and is one of the most addicting hobbies that anyone could get hooked on.

maybe some of us may have to get out completely, but it'd be nicer if most of us could still be involved somehow, if only purchasing one or even two items a year, instead of 10-12. concentrate on the must haves, and that way you'll still have an interest, and that one or two must haves you get a year will only be that much sweeter.

That's great advise and on that I just recently started following. I'm being very selective & only collecting those "must haves".
