That would make sense. I mean, Toy fair is like 2 months away, the exclusive figure better be in production or at least close to it so that it'll be on time. And remember that they'll probably announce other new stuff at CIV so they've got other figures in development as well. Perhaps the exclusive will be a variant on a figure we'll see at CIV. (personally I don't want any variants on existing figures, for a Tattooine Luke it would need a new sculpt).

I do like how these angry threads are usually from brand new members.

Hi my name is (insert here); BTW Sideshow sucks. Can't wait to meet everyone :lol

Some of us don't have the time to have over 4,000 posts.
Anyways, I remember SSC saying last year they were going to gave ten to twelve 1:6 scale Star Wars figures per year. We're approaching mid March and we have two pre-orders. I know there will be a C4 exclusive and there will probably be another SDCC exclusive, so that makes 4...

The key word here is "Momentum"... SSC generated tons of it in 2006 and so far in '07 they have none. Some of us only collect the 1:6 scale Star Wars figures and can't afford the PF and LOTR stuff. So, in my opinion '07 has been a dud.

Is there still time to turn things around, yes. But like an earlier poster said, ever since the Leia Boushh pre-order the 1:6 scale Star Wars line has taken a dump! He's right.

Somenthing's up and I'd like to know what it is!!!!

I don't think it's an unreasonable post - but there are a LOT of SW figures on the horizon, many will ship this calendar year. I don't know if the volume of announcements will match what we got in 2006, but I think people will be pleased with the variety.

It has been eight months since the reveal of a main character from the films in the 12" line. I totally understand that for some people, Asajj and the Endor Troopers and Bubo and the chess table aren't seen as iconic additions to the line. (Even if they do represent a lot of hard work and creativity on Sideshow's part.) If the first "important" character announcement in quite some time is a CIV exclusive, then I hope that there are quite a lot made available for non-attendees. I like the diversity in the line, but it is time for another main character to hit--and after a relatively long wait for a "big" announcement I think that making it an event exclusive might only further stir up an already impatient crowd of fans.

I am truly afraid that all of these '***** and Moan' threads are going to lead to Sideshow distancing themselves from the fanbase, ie all of us on these very boards.

I've seen it before: NECA used to come to the Movie Maniacs board all the time to give fans' the first look at almost everything, then people took them for granted and then....NOTHING. I guess they figured that it was better to get that professional distance.

True enough: I could care less for EU or Endor Troop characters, so I am hot for a 'big' announcement like the next guy, but some need to learn patience.

I doubt that. B-itching and moaning given, they know where their bread is buttered. A lot of revenue is generated for them from members here. Members have every right to complain or praise. Distancing themselves would cost SS money. I'm sure there is a certain amount of head shaking and laughing at a lot of these posts, but there are also plenty of die hard fanboy groupies that give them constant strokes no matter what. It all comes out in the wash.

I would HATE for that to happen. I love hearing from Dusty, Chicky, Q, Brent, Trevolver, and Andy (and anyone else I forgot to mention). I think the fact that Andy is still posting here, even though he's no longer officially with Sideshow, is a good sign, though.

Back on topic, it's ONLY March guys. The year is so young, it feels sillly to be worried that there won't be enough figures announced. For myself, I'm still recovering from Jabba and freaking out that I've run out of display room!:lol

As for Celebration, I'm sure there will be plenty of the Exclusive to go around. Sideshow knows it's fans. I think the only time we really had trouble getting an exclusive figure "might" be Nazi Kroenen.

Let's take a deep breath and slow things d....o...w...n...
Here's what we're going to get in the next few months:
Leia as Boushh, Plo Koon, 3 Endor Troopers, Asajj Ventress, Buboicullaar Creature Pack, & a Derjarik Holochess Set.
Also we know that a snowbunny Padme is coming down the pipes---

Here's what the James Bond line will be getting in the next few months---- (not counting the re-release of each Bond with new clothing)... nada for new characters.

Here's what we know the LOTR line will be seeing--- Faramir.

The haves and have nots--- I collect all three of these lines in the 12" format (minus the Endor Troopers because I really don't want them) and I'd love to see new announcements very week--- but my bank account doesn't want that. Enjoy the collection that you have and be happy that a great company is putting out wonderful products (and will continue to). It's the 30th anniversary... you just know that we're going to get at least 4-6 ANH 12" announced before or at May... and if they happen to announce that they're making a diorama ****pit of the Millenium Falcon to seat your 12" in my head will FREAKIN' EXPLODE (go on SS--- I dare you...please?)/

It could be worse--- we could solely be Marvel fans and see Captain A shot for the ol' '93 Supes death reason---- comics fueled by economics... I love it.

Personally, I like how there hasn't been any 12" announcements lately. It's good to WANT an announcement. There has to be some hunger to keep my collecting fire alive.

Everyone wants everything now. Give me all my favorite main characters this instant! I'm not of that mindset. I want them all.. over years! Give me some cool aliens, creatures and minor characters to mix in and keep it fun! Take your time and keep quality as high as possible!

That said... I feel for the LOTR PF folks. It has been TOO long for that line between pieces. There is a point where a line can become ice cold for collectors because the wait seems endless.

This is what is perfect for me (I stress for ME) from the Star Wars line:

8 - 12" per year (1 or 2 being convention exclusives)
3 - PF per year (super high quality!)
2 - misc items (creature packs, accessories etc)
3 - dioramas per year (1 being an exclusive)

Just my thoughts.

I'd be happy with one or two fewer 12" if there was a major diorama set piece (a la Jabba's throne)... If they release the Millenium Falcon seating area (it'll blank out the rooster pit if I write it that way) I'd be ecstatic to put my money towards that instead of two or three figs (as I guess it'd probably coast around that $150-200).

And I mean a diorama that goes with and is for the 12" line...

I wouldn't worry about the Sideshow girls and guys losing patience with us. We love what they do, and we want them to do more of it -- if anything speaks of our love for their product, it's our impatience.

As long as our sense of humor matches theirs (and how often does THAT happen in this business?), there's no harm done.

OF COURSE YOUR BITTER..YOURE A STAR WARS FAN.

That is very funny.:rotfl

Any way I for one am happy with what we got so far and I'm in no rush to get more figs. My back account is still regenerating from the last figs I bought(Jabba and throne, and Luke and Yoda Pf ect...) So if they give me enough time to get the necessary funds, I 'll probably have the dough to buy everything they dish out. So take your time sideshow, just dont over do it. :D

I'm not sure I would label this thread entirely that way, ya the person that created it used a poor choice of words for the title, but for the most part, the people discussing in here have been having a civil, "I wonder why", discussion and shared thoughts in eager anticipation. If anything I think this thread would show SSC, hey, we're behind you and this line, please give us more soon, we're salivating for your product.

Yeah, it does worry me as well. Especially if people continue to do what happened when Boba came out.

People need to be patient really. Like Tom said some of what's been announced might not be people's cup of tea. However, they're still cool additions to the line and think when we se those we'll be very happy with the wait. Just be patient and everything will be worth the wait I have no doubts on that. Remember we have C4, SDCC, and then like 5 months after that.

I am pretty bummed by no announcement and the posibility of having to wait 3 more months before we get another preorder kind of sucks but somebody said maybe they are making the wait between pre-order and shipping shorter and if thats the case I'm all for it. Its even worse to order a fig then know you have to wait 7 months to get it.

I just wish Sideshow didn't feel it had to be so "clandestine" about their announcements and pre-orders. Everything's a secret. Hasbro reveals it's plans for each calendar year at the beginning of each year. Consequently, collectors of the 3 and 3/4 scale figures know every figure, every case assortment breakdown, which month each wave is scheduled to hit retail, etc...

Having a template like that helps collectors navigate thru the calendar year and know when stuff will hit stores.

I love SSC. I love the 1:6 scale Star Wars line. I don't want anybody to think I started this thread just to stir things up. I just wish everything with SSC didn't have to be such a big secret. That's how they choose to do business and I have to just shut up and deal I guess.
