Good rebuttal Josh--- I'm of the opinion that we'll all be quite happy once the end of May roles around...

The sky is not falling.
And even more so by the end of July.DarthNeil said:Good rebuttal Josh--- I'm of the opinion that we'll all be quite happy once the end of May roles around...

creecher said:I can see why they don't announce ahead of time, because disruption to schedules and quality control issues etc, but I would like to know what they do have planned in advance. I know that sounds contradictory.

Great Ape said:P.S. I remember TOY FAIR used to be the days when SS announced their big plans. If SDCC is the new in it goes to show the decline in maturity in audience. It's time to put down the comics and read books and novels.
jlcmsu said:I get ya. We know who they will do and everyone else is a nice suprise.
bluesparrow said:Dave, is there a reason why there haven't been any announcements for so long? It just doesn't really make sense.
Darklord Dave said:I'll be honest - I didn't read HS or Josh's posts completely, but SSC ain't hurtin' right now, no way, no how. In fact this is a renaissance for them in many ways. Yea, a lot of this is due to Star Wars but whether a figure sells through in a month or 6 months - they don't care.
Well thanks for a reasoned set of replies, unlike the bashing I got last time!!!Darklord Dave said:I'll be honest - I didn't read HS or Josh's posts completely, but SSC ain't hurtin' right now, no way, no how. AmanaMatt said:Well, I found Homers post to be a very interesting read....end of the day, we'll all know how close he is - this should be a very big year for SS in the Star Wars line.
IF they do not do core characters, people will burn out of this line. There are many hardcore fanboys here that want those 'never-before-made' types, but the rest want they Luke, Han, Vader etc.
SportsAnchor said:I think an earlier poster touched on this briefly. When you're dealing with Star Wars collectors, most of them are connected to the original movies. Consequently, they want the core characters made. I think the Derjerik Holo Chess set is an 'out-of-the-box' move by SSC (certainly something Hasbro would've never done or thought of doing). But to have a piece like that available BEFORE making core characters? I'm 38 years old and have been collecting SW toys since 1977.
August 4th, 2006 was the preorder for the 1:6 scale Leia Boussh. That's almost 7 and a half months since a core character was up for preorder. I just wish somebody from SSC would come on here, lay their cards on the table and explain. :chew
I agree. Patience is the name of the game plus it is just too early in the year to be worried about lack of announcements. The Star Wars line is fine and Sideshow is not going under.jlcmsu said:What's to lay on the table though really? They've said in the past they will not announce what's coming because production issues could cause changes. That being said patience is the key because I think 2007 will be even better than 2006 once the year ends. People are getting worried in March when we still have C4, SDCC, and like 5 months left.
