I like how they have it so slightly turned so that you can't see the gap under the right arm. You can drive a Mack truck through there.

The sad thing is Trevor's resculpt is lost on this piece. If you look at his deviant art site he nailed RDJ....like usual the factory ^^^^ed it up.

I have had mine for a week now, the armour looks great and it is a nice piece from a couple of feet away but on close inspection the fabric pattern on the statue is gooped up by really thick paint and the wiring underneath is painted over the sides onto the fabric and the fabric paints cover the wires. I am tempted to repaint it or even remove some of the polystone wiring, add my own fabric and extra wires because up close it is very rough. I will add some pics tomorrow.

The portrait looks great I think. Much better than it was. I hope this ships soon, one of the ones I'm looking forward to the most.

I saw it at the Con and Loved it. It looks really good up close and personal.

Just my humble opinion....

Cheers

I had flex mine... :( Patience... This is the number one piece I have been looking forward to all year BY FAR!

Guys I got mine today and let me say DO NOT WORRY. It is well worth it. Massive, imposing, heavy, and everything you imagined.

Pics don't do this piece justice. In hand, you will be blown away guaranteed. The face sculpt by Erik Sosa is fine, perfect. Don't worry about the lazy eye or whatever, when you display it naturally not with amateur flashbulb digital photography it will destroy you.

The sculpt looks like Tony just spent weeks slaving away in a dark, dank cave while slowly wasting away because he has a battery driving his heart . . . in other words perfect.

The Hot Toys figure is a great, great product but as a Star Wars 12 inch completist with a LOT OF RESPECT for the poseable 12 inch action figure market, let me be the first to say there is honestly NO COMPARISON between a maquette of this stature and a poseable figure.

When people who are not into this stuff come by and visit or you show this off to your wife and friends, they are going to marvel at this Maquette. They will politely compliment your "toy" with the Hot Toy version.

I wish people would just ENJOY the hobby and ENJOY the statues. Sculptors like Sosa and Tim Bruckner KILL THEMSELVES giving us incredible works of art and we are nitpicking the space beneath the right arm??? Huh???? I put my maquette on top of my tower speaker next to Iron Man 1:1 Bust and it is just BREATHTAKING. Paid 400 and shipping AND SALES TAX (I live in California) and I think it's worth every cent.

I'm glad you enjoy the piece. At the end of the day only your opinion matters, as long as you're happy with it, its golden :rock

I didnt order this, but still, Its one of my favorite Sideshow piece this year.

This piece is on top of my list. Last year, when I heard about it I could not wait to get it. I'm on a tight budget so I have a couple of things on Flexpay like Patient Zero, Berserker and Iron Man, so I get things very slowly....

Patient Zero will ship next week, I'll pay my first Flexpay for IM Mark I this month and Berserker will start next month. It is a slow process but eventually I will get everything.

dude, there is nothing remotely toy-like about the ht mark1 armour. just cos it's in a smaller scale does not render it inferior by default. the detail of the ht armour is amazing.

in fact, in certain respects it puts the high-end maquette to shame.

first of all, imo the choice of pose is terribly un-dynamic. does not convey any sense of power or badassery.

but to me, the biggest issue is the chest RT. wtf is up with the ss version? if a 1/6 scale toy can get it right, there is absolutely no excuse for such a large scale collectible to be completely off. there is zero detail in it, it's just a white circle. ugh. and worse, this reeks of laziness to me, like they couldn't be bothered to correctly depict such a crucial part of iron man.

don't get me wrong, i'm not dismissing the maquette. cos overall, i agree that it's an excellent piece. but that one issue is simply too glaring to overlook.
