I don't know much about computers themselves, I just need them to work. I only made the switch to Mac a couple years because an industry standard video editing program I had to learn was mac-specific. Whether the lack of hassle with viruses, malware, spyware etc is simply due to fewer people writing them for macs rather than an inherently superior OS, I don't know... all I know is I haven't had to spend one second of my time figuring out how to clean out my registry, reformat my system, reinstal windows etc.

And what Kamandi said - their application of cognitive ergonomics in their UI blows Windows out of the water.

For me, the reason to stay with PC is the value since they cost much less and the compatibility, there's only a few programs that are Mac only but tons of programs that are only Windows.

For me, the reason to stay with Mac is the value since they cost much less of my time maintaining, and the compatibility, as there isn't a single program I can't run on a dual-boot Macbook Pro

Welll, my work pays for all my stuff, so everything I get is legit. Thing is, I can still vividly recall the days lost to maintaining my windows systems over the years. For that reason alone it'll take a lot of convincing to ever get me back.

Well it's an Apple thing in their TOS where they say you can only install OSX on Apple hardware.

For me I haven't really done any maintenance, Win7 has improved over XP a lot. And I really need all the power I can get so it's not a good idea to spend the money on a Mac when I can use the savings to get more power.
