Very well executed post. Everything you say makes sense, and stuff I know, and there is stuff I have now learned because of you. And you're right on tinkering with the operating system. Time is money. I have a lot less issues with my Macs, and my focus has been on my projects. I love that. Sure I pay a lot more for the product, but at the end of the day, I can get that money back. I can't get that time back. Ease of pain, non-hair pulling, and enjoyment is worth the extra smackers IMO.

STFU eli :lol

If you're not a desktop gamer, then I reckon there's no reason not to buy a Mac.
Especially if you own an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV etc.. the Sync stuff is legendary.

I use a PC at work and Macs at home. They cost more, but they are so robust and reliable.. I've got a brand new iMac but I didn't need to get one.. my 6 year old Macbook still absolutely screams (and has never crashed or failed me in any way).

The real boon is the "iLife" package that comes with it. The kind of software you'd pay an arm and a leg for if you bought the individual pieces for PC... and they'd never integrate their data so well. Especially good for recording music, editing photos and creating movies out of the box.

The only let down for Macs is gaming. But if you like consoles, you're laughing.

I concur. That wireless syncing is a huge advantage especially with a Time Capsule. I'm just hoping they'll do something more with the iCloud. Until then, I'm sticking to DropBox. :wink1:

I've been a PC user for years and just recently purchased a Mac, I love my MacBook Air...and I love that it syncs with my iPhone and iPad. So yes, I am officially an Apple fan but I am definitely not one to shove my love down anyone's throat. After all, it is a preference. xD

Anyone catch the Apple event? The new iMac looks gorgeous. And the specs are pretty sweet :)

Except there's no retina display. That was one of the things I was hoping for. So now I have to decide should I get the 27.5" now or wait until who-knows-when for the retina display version to come out.

I'm leaning towards getting the new iMac now and then flipping it when the retina version is released...

I think they realized from a cost stand point if they were to add a retina display it would be well over $2000. I'm thinking they will just come out with a smart tv with retina display.

I'm in the mindset that I'm glad they didn't include a Retina display yet. Longevity on that hardware hasn't been determined yet, and some of the iMacs already suffered from screen discoloration that was believed to be caused by heat issues. I will be getting one after the holidays. Depending on the BTO options I'd like to get a 27" with i5 processor, 2gb video card, and SSD and HDD. I don't think I'll opt for the Fusion upgrade unless the price is reasonable. But knowing Apple it'll be pricey for new options so I'll pass on that savings to use on upgrading the RAMM to 16gb.

Sent from my iPhone located on the planet Hoth.

$250 to upgrade to the fusion HD. I'm saving up for the 27" $1799 version. I'm pretty sure I can get $150 off since my wife is a teacher.

This thing is a beast. Love it.

I'm had my Magic Mouse for about 2 years now. It still works perfectly. I like it a lot. I add a little trouble getting use to it at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's awesome.

Awesome! Mine I about 4 years old now and still works like new. I want to upgrade but really don't hav a reason to.

Then don't. In my case I had for school. Or else I would be on my older Mac still.

btw I'll never go back to desktop again. I am a laptop guy from here on in.
