Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

all of those figures are excellent choices! Man, its gonna be an expensive year for me, all are must buys. Im quite satisfied with iminimes original Corleone on an enterbay slim with a repaint, but I know it can be improved upon and a Michael Corleone up to today's Iminime standards would be a top 3 highlight in my collection!

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

I'm hoping that means people will be more open to, what I believe is the more iconic look, and, since I don't believe Trevor's started on it yet, that should mean that no look is definitely decided on, yet. I think enough time has passed between VM's release that they can do the opening scene without it being viewed as a conflict of interest by some.

Considering how evenly the votes were distributed for the outfit choices, I really don't see how you can choose one outfit or the other. I really think this needs to be a 50/50 thing plus a DX set, similar to the Bride.

Clint is like Arnold to me: I want all of his characters in all of his outfits.

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

Does the new Trio Blondie have a different sculpt then the original then :dunno
I guess that would make it more unique. Both for the owners of the original & the one in the Trio set.

I think for the trio set, they should include 2 sculpts for Blondie, first one like the original with the sculpted hat & another one when he is walking through the desert. Maybe an alternate outfit too?

It would be cool if they were able to pull off a DX super-set like Dorothy or The Bride, with a brown suit/ gray suit and maybe an angry sculpt (for the brown suit), and one like the pic I posted (for the gray), but, again, that seems like it'd be a hefty workload, especially with it not being a totally in-house project.

Nope, same thing, and I think that might be a bit much, for the price.:lol

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

Well, even though I missed out on the DX/Reg versions of Blondie, I think the Trio set will make up for it :yess: I decided to go all in cause I like having the official figures by iminime. Still love my bash and I made him Manco from FAFDM anyways, so it's all good. I would love to see Lee Van Cleef as Colonel Mortimer down the road. The list of current figures is impressive, but bring on more cowboys. We have got to see the Duke make an appearance and I'm looking forward to Dirty Harry.

How about a Yul Brynner from Westworld, that is kind of a Western.

I'm sure I've seen a 12 inch figure of the Gunslinger somewhere? :dunno

Regarding Westerns, as much as I love the classics, I think that, outside of Wayne, I'd really like to see them take on Bridges' Cogburn from the Coens' True Grit. I think Denny and Co. Would knock it out of the park, and, on that note, maybe tackle a certain bum and his Shomer Shabbos worshipping cohort.:lol ;)

I am definitely with you on the Col. Mortimer, The Duke, and more iconic western figures.

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

I'd be good if they come up with a Gary Cooper Will Kane from High Noon but it's such a long shot so to speak.

I prefer the original True Grit, so Wayne's Rooster would be my choice. Not taking anything away from the remake, or Bridges performance.

Also, I started thinking about an individual that made some of the greatest movies ever and I would absolutely love a Yojimbo Toshiro Mifune :panic: My old Alfrex versions of him are way outdated. I am a huge fan of his movies, so bring on the samurai :wave

On the topic of of Pulp Fiction, Even though I have RM's Vince and Jules I'd still be open to an Iminime take. Too bad there's not going to be a Mia Wallace considering that there's already a great Uma Thurman head sculpt. Marcellus would be fantastic.

On the top of Westerns, my top choices would be:
Wyatt Earp (Tombstone)
Johnny Ringo (Tombstone)
Butch & Sundance (Newman & Redford)
Virgil Earp (Tombstone)

Gary Cooper would be a good choice as well. Most western buffs who were part of the great western movie area mostly agree that High Noon is the best western film ever made.

If a Rooster Cogburn were made, it should be John Wayne. If Bridges portrayal were original then I would say his likeness should be done, but he based his portrayal on John Wayne.

Love that movie & Gary Cooper, but I agree that it would be a long shot.

The Duke as John T Chance in Rio Bravo & Toshiro Mifune as Yojimbo I think would be my most wanted figures ever by iminime. Clint was on that list, but we can scratch him off, now that he has been done to perfection :)

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

To be honest, that's the reason I'd prefer a Bridges Cogburn. I'd rather any John Wayne on the shelf be a more traditional version (like Rio Bravo), and, honestly, after reading the book, dare I say, but Bridges might be a more, shall we say, authentic Cogburn.

On that note, I wouldn't really call the modern True Grit a "remake" in the sense that we've come to know it. I think that the Coens just set out to make a more authentic and true to the novel interpretation. That isn't to say that Wayne's wasn't, but, at the end of the day, the first thing you take out of the original isn't the story: it's Wayne's performance.

Never read the book, so your probably right about that. Wayne took each role and did what he wanted with it. Still, he is the Rooster that I would buy if done. I would prefer a younger Duke though, so Rio Bravo is the way to go.

It has the same name and characters. They retold the story in their own way, but at the end of the day, it's still a remake :wink1:
