Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

Never read the book, so your probably right about that. Wayne took each role and did what he wanted with it. Still, he is the Rooster that I would buy if done. I would prefer a younger Duke though, so Rio Bravo is the way to go.

Yeah, that's true. Hell, I can't say I'd complain if there were two Cogburns. To be fair, he did win an Oscar for that part.:lol

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

I have to say that there are very few actors that have or had the screen presence of John Wayne. He was larger than life and left you remembering his portrayal more so than the movie itself. A figure of The Duke from any one of 10 different films would be a welcome addition and long overdue.

:exactly: When you suggested that last night I said dual pack of each version :lol

Why not? That's a great idea, sir.

Absolutely agree. He was an American icon.

We are all on the same page :)

I only know that the trio of figs from GBU are scheduled for May.

in the meantime I'm gonna have to put my Max with Blondie, so he doesn't get too lonely.

Shells thats great stuff right there? Why did you buy the trio again, you have a blondie right? Or was it not a full set?

A quality 1/6 The Searchers, Rio Bravo, or True Grit John Wayne fig would be very welcome.

I'd be good if they come up with a Gary Cooper Will Kane from High Noon but it's such a long shot so to speak.

I would be all in on a Will Kane! No doubt!

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

I'm a huge western fan and it's totally iconic but no way in hell I'd want John Wayne

Edit. Clarify, no way in hell I'd buy john Wayne. I can't argue he's not worthy of a figure though,

An American icon in arguably Leone's best picture. Then another icon as the man who opposed him.

I really wish this movie had more traction within the 1/6 community. It is consistently ranked as Leone's best film, and probably Bronson and Fonda's best too (although that is debatable). The score is the best of any spaghetti western and it has some of the most memorable locations.

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

I agree that Once Upon A Time is one of the best westerns ever. It is my personal favorite. But Liberty Valence is still my number one western want, as he has been for years. Such a perfect western bad guy.

He is on my list too, but not my number 1 choice. Great movie and Lee Marvin was one of the best.
