Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

What can I say it was a moment of madness from me, :panic:

I put a bid in 1 hour before close of auction and then went out, I thought someone is bound to outbid me, between now and the close, Then I get an email saying that I won the auction. :panic:

Well these things happen I guess, I can cover the expense no problem, so I'm cool with it.
That's gangsta.

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

well said batfan.......i sold my full figure on here for around 1200 bucks, buyer was very happy to get it.....only sold it to fund the trio...at least another member got a chance to get the figure after missing out on preorders...the figure will sell for whatever the buyer wants to pay at the end of the day

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

So what turbo is saying is that I shouldn't have a voice. Because I'm Iminimes mouthpiece nothing should come from me but official statements and updates? No opinion. No conjecture. No fun

See I think it's incumbent on members to make their own opinions about the things I say. To be able to tell the difference as to when I'm speaking for Iminime and when I'm speaking as a private citizen. When CS was incorporated on sept 1st it wasn't like i gave up my humanity. I didn't stop being a collector or a customer of other manufacturers and artists.

Turbo is implying that I can't be both customer and representative. I leave to all of you to decide.

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

Are you saying that's how they roll in Miami? :rotfl

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKOSzRaANYE[/ame]

Lol never been to Miami personally the pic was more indicative of my thoughts on this whole pointless debate. A couple of looks of distaine lol (also one of them is called Omar ;)).

Turbo is entitled to his opinion he's also entitled to voice it (hell for the first time in a long time, possibly ever I actually agree with him on a couple of points) but the general gist of the argument no. I think it's all just a bit of a stupid coincidence.

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

just a couple of thoughts or comments. Hopeing not to offend anyone, but expecting to anyway.
Just of view of what's ethical or unethical

A guy is one of a group of people who were lucky enough to get a preorder in, in time. He is one of about 30. Some months later, in order to help fund a newer/better/more complete product, he puts his figure up for auction. He sets a reasonable starting bid, but (expectantly or unexpectantly) bidding goes through the roof. Some crazy (or wealthy) person pays what most of us would call "crazy money" Seller hits the lottery

NO PROBLEM

The first regular guy buyer later to be seller is under no obligation to set a low "buy it now" price--- the auction goes where the new buyer and his competitor biddrs wants it to go

The "AUTHORIZED DEALER" (IMHO) is a W H O L E nuther entity. An "Authorized dealer" is a person who enjoys a special relationship with the manufacturer and with his customers. An "Authorized dealer" should be representing the manufacturer in a positive light. IMHO he is under a moral (if not a legal) obligation to sell the manufacturers product at or reasonably near the "MSRP" (Manufactuers Suggested Retail price)

I agree with all of this. But the figure i sold on ebay wasn't the manufacturer's. It was mine. If i was making ebay auctions for the trio (which i dont yet own) then I could understand that argument.

WAKE

First, thank you for your humility in your response. I understand that you are somewhere between the 2 examples that I gave. The figure you sold on ebay was your personal purchase ( The only one you own as an individual) you did have a foot up on the other preorder buyers,( you certainly deserved that perk) but otherwise this was "Wake's" figure and not one of "Cinemascope's" inventory

I was refering more to the other person whom you reffered to as an "Authorized dealer" who hords and holds figs to sell later at inflated prices. To me he was under a moral obligation to sell the figure at it's "MSRP" from his web-store or on E-Bay with a reasonable "Buy it Now" price :first come first serve

Personally I would probably not patronize a buissiness that participates in such a practice---------------------------------------------unless I really really had no other choice.
But not on any regular basis or from regular stock

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

I do not like MoAF attitude, but in the end of a day he has all the rare figures, and if you have a buck, why not to buy something you really want, but missed. Denny already said that his stock is small, so not a big deal.

Wake is doing quite responsible, may be he should think more about how people will read his posts from now on with cinemascale on the background, taking nitpicking attitude into account.

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

btw
Did anyone else get a notice similar to this with their shipping confirmation ?

"Thank you very much for waiting. We appreciate for your patience.

If possible, I would like to ask you one thing, as this is not licensed figure but custom art work, if you take photos and publish, please don't mention (co. name blacked out) or show the box.
Thank you for your help and cooperation on this.
**important notice : In order not to give out evidence of the edition size,
we no longer write down numbers, I apologize for this.
Your order is shipping out today"

Apparently these folks did'nt

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

Ya they are really cracking down on 1/6 customs, with the recently zombie duo getting a lot of publicity, Denny and co are trying to stay under the radar to avoid a C&D...but as far as auctions go...I guess you gotta stick the makers name to it to make it more a valid sale, it's also easier to search for.

Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'

That pic with F. Murray Abraham makes me want a Salieri from Amadeus. Yet another obscure, non-popcorn character that will likely never be made into a figure.

Carry on. :D

I would'nt call it "obscure". Abraham won a Best Actor Oscar for playing him.

but he's not quite an "Action figure" that would appeal to typical macho GI Joe alumni

If anyone were to do him it would likely be Serang (Beatles, Hendrix,Beethoven, Van Gogh)
