What sucks about it is that WE KNOW ONE OF THE 36 DX BUYERS GAVE IT TO Q. Now to find out which one. Its really dumb on the part of that DX buyer... all they are doing is diminishing the value of their own collectible. I hope Q paid 3k for right to cast that head.

36 DX sets and the 3 blanks Trev sent out don't forget those (where they DX sculpts or just regular sculpts? I forget). This is disgusting it really is!

I don't know that it will affect value much honestly. Serious collectors aren't going to be satisfied with Q's cheap counterfeit junk. As for finding who it was, it would be nice if that happened, but I don't think that's likely. Maybe if it were 3 or 5 guys instead of 30+.

What about the Jack Burton sculpt? Didn't Trev only hand out 5-6 of them yet Q still managed to get it?

It is disgusting, however i guess they will never have the iminime paint up.

He must be paying people a fortune to make it worth their while.

Sadly it's unlikely we'll ever know. The sheer volume of sculpts he seems to sell would appear to make it worth his while even if he is paying large amounts to secure the sculpts.

It's really really sad and more than a little concerning that sculpts this limited are falling into his hands.

Sorry-is there DX scoulpt recast in ebuy?I sow just figure which looks similare regular sculpt set.Anyway it sucks.

Not 100% sure how casting works, but this means the original DX sculpt that was used for casting is ruined right? What a waste :slap

Yes, but like Bullet says they apparently know the culprit there. The DX Cowboy is even trickier, because at least a couple have already sold their DX's (apart from Wake and Shortround). Considering the timing, my guess is that this recast is actually from a figure that was purchased second hand.

I do not claim to know anything would just like to get that clear. There are however serious suspicions that are held by more than a couple against one individual on here. Problem is there is no concrete evidence and there is not a chance I or I'd imagine any of the others would throw out any accusations or name and names without said proof.

Yeah, we certainly don't want any witch hunts here based on conjecture. But I've said it before, and this is illustrated by Teddy's example of the Burton sculpt--no sculpt is safe from recasting by individuals with no respect for the hobby or artists involved in it. Best to just assume a sculpt will be recast whenever it is made available in any capacity. Iminime wanted to limit availability of unpainted or painted sculpts in the past to try and combat this, but that strategy just doesn't work. Self respecting collectors won't support guys like Q in any way, of course, but there are always those who don't know any better or just don't give a **** who will.

Well there's two silver linings:

The cast quality looks terrible.

And the fact that only three unpainted casts exist (and we know where they went) should mean anyone who buys an unpainted cast should know they are buying a fake.

Finally I'm goin to personally contact all of the painters I know and ask them if they will consider refusing to paint the sculpt.
