Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

Alright guys!!! Exciting times! Pre-order is now up!!!

As I mentioned before some things are changing, hopefully for the benefit of everyone. As I mentioned before I'm helping Denny out with a few things. One of those is the distribution of his products to fellow Sideshow Collectors on these forums. To that end i present...

CINEMASCALE.COM

This will be how Iminime does business around these parts. Pricing-wise nothing has changed. Shipping is also the same cost as its always been. The advantage is a more streamlined ordering system that will benefit Denny and make the process a little smoother.

We are still working out some of the kinks so please bare with us. To that point, if you are an Iminime VIP please send me an email at [email protected] so that you get your personalized coupon code applicable towards your 10% discount.

Let me and Denny know what you guys think!

I think you mean send an email to "[email protected]" and not what you wrote. :)

Does this mean iminime is going to change their company's name to Cinemascale?

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

Dang...over $400 in one swoop that I wasn't planning for. Any chance of a payment plan?

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

The body used is the zcwo narrow shoulder base body. It's pretty slim without being small. I think the two pictures you posted though aren't the most accurate representations on quintos character. I'll give you that he's slim, but he looks waifishly thin in those. Like he's channelling a little Michael Jackson. Lol. The slim body would be too small I think

I know, those were just what I could find in photobucket. Anyway, overall it's a fantastic figure. Putting in the PO tomorrow. The body will probably not be a huge deal to me. Eventually it will come down impressions once in hand. I might try swapping it to a slim or seeing what others do, who knows. It wouldn't be the first time. Looking forward to seeing the cap'n finalized, and hopefully Uhura (at least).

Also, like the company name and website. Very cool.

427 dollars shipped to Sweden... ouch. :( If the likeness would have been spock on from all the angles it would have been worth it, for me. Now.. I don't know. Is there are chance that iminime might do some slight rework to the headsculpt? I doubt it.. Gonna have to think about this one.. that's a lot of money.

Denny has all VIP e-mails. If he's going to change the process, it seems more responsible for him to simply e-mail this coupon code to all VIPs without requiring them to jump through extra hoops like sending e-mails out requesting them.

And I guess that's your own Draper figure Wake? So in addition to Iminime doing pre-orders, will you be selling your own stuff on this site?

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

Any chance for improvements to the head, body choice and tailoring? For that price, it'd have to be spot on.

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

Not sure, respectfully, if I think it's appropriate that non iminime figures are for sale on the website AKA the Don as its a bit unfaithful the the iminime catalog.Unless of course it is a recurring thing there Wake sells his awesome dioramas as small runs to compliment the iminime figures I think it should be just iminime releases. the streamlined ordering system will hopefully help I'm looking forward to seeing how it shakes out,

I find it odd that I'm wanting to pass on Spock, I'm more of a classic ST guy but was looking forward to it, ill admit I'm not quite happy with how it turned out though.

Really like the pics from Wake, his waist looks a bit too synched in some of the shots I think that's the issue with the body and maybe the belt being too tight.

Definitely agree with this too!

I dont think cinemascale is a subsidiary of Iminime.

Its Omar's personal selling portal so I think/believe he can sell whatever he wants from it. Be it his own customs and all.

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

There's a few things wrong with the shirt. The sleeves bunch a bit wrong, and the silver rank braids are too wide. Also, the pattern on the shirt's supposed to have little Starfleet logos on it, which this doesn't. In addition, the likeness is a tiny bit off, and the body's too slim as mentioned. And did anyone else notice it looks like the communicator doesn't open? Yeah, that's a bit much for this much money.

Though if there was a payment plan I would definitely consider.

That said, not sure I could pass up a Kirk with that awesome headsculpt we've seen.

I don't know what Nanjin's TWOK figures are going for this time, but the uniforms are spot on, the accessories are right and the likenesses are perfect, and the price, I'm willing to bet will be cheaper.

So I'm confused, is iminime.net going to sell the figures still and just the odd one here? Some official announcements from Denny for clarification might be helpful.

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

I can forgive the lack of logo on the pattern as I'm sure the material is sourced not custom made, the other points are spot on and body, all that can be adjusted. It's just the head and the paint in the head I'm not a fan of, I agree it is a high price to not have it be a home run.

I think that I'd go back into the sculpt if I was iminime, redo it completely or tweak it heavily, it would have to drop my jaw to make me want it. Iminime can do it, they have some of the best sculptors in the world if you ask me!

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

Agreed, there is quite a bit of confusion here as to whether this is a new name for Iminime or what. I'm going to hold until things are clarified. Interesting points about the uniform pattern, I hadn't noticed. Is this all finalized or or there other tweaks being made to head sculpt, uniform and accessories? Will an H+C option be offered, if so may go that route because still unsure about the body.

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

iminime.net WILL sell these figures... We asian buyers will buy from there as its more convenient for us... iminime.net is not going defunct. Omar give the details... but from what i know Omar is one of iminime's official distributors...

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

Hay guys,

For the sale of clarity; Iminime is still Iminime. They still make custom figures. CinemaScale is an eTailer website and the official USA and SSF distributor for Iminime. Denny is sure to formally announce the pre-order through email. He will mention what I've mentioned above.

Regarding the draper figure. The main reason he's there was as a test of the websites shop capabilities prior to having the promo photos for Spock. Additionally the headsculpt was painted by Iminime, so I don't feel uncomfortable having it listed on the site. Especially since its one figure. I'm not gonna go into the specifics of how the business model works, and although I understand the slight confusion, I'm hoping you guys will just trust the process. If you live outside of north america Iminime will still ship the figure to you directly. If not they will go to cinemascale and then fedexed to everyone individually.

Regarding the pricing. That is Iminime standard pricing on all figures. Nothing new. There's never been a payment plan option before.

The goal is to make things easier guys. Not harder. To that end Sam you are right regarding the VIP memberships. In fact I do have the list of all the VIP members. But rather than send emails to everyone to give them a coupon code I figured is just hear from those who want the figure.

Hope this explanation helps.

Thanks

Re: [iminime] Trekking into the Dark - The Brash Captain, The Vulcan First Officer

For that price they should throw in a nice Star Trek themed display base and the LL&P hand. Maybe a nice diorama background as well. 400 dollars for something that's in the same league as say the DID M16 Agent 'Jack' which is a third of this cost is just not worth it. I understand that I come off as debbie downer but I was really looking forward to this release, I pushed Denny to consider ST (who was reluctant at first) and I was really happy when they decided to make these. But I feel like my dreams are now crushed... at least for Spock. :lol The likeness isn't 400 dollars quality to me. :dunno

But I do like the Kirk headsculpt, I think it's perfect. Can't wait to see it painted.

My understanding is that the LL&P hand will be included in the final set. It's listed in the description on the site. It was not ready at the time of the photos.

The Iminime prices have always been in the $350-450 range varying slightly from release to release. So this really shouldn't have been such a surprise. I always expect an Iminime release to be this range. Bateman and Blondie are considerably more. Granted both have more accessories. And although in theory your comparison to a DiD release should be valid, it's not because we are talking a mass produced figure (with poorer quality and lower production costs) when compared to a full custom figure which is cast in superior resin (not injection molded) and hand painted.

Considering how long it takes for these figures to be made a payment plan would be a fantastic idea. Though I would like to get this figure I already have over $1300 tied up in four Iminime orders that are up to six months old without having anything to show for it yet. Truthfully I am just a bit worried to invest another large sum right now with what I already have hanging out there.

I'll bring it up with Denny regarding the payment plan.

Regarding the outstanding orders... I personally don't have anything to do with that directly... HOWEVER, as a customer of Iminime myself, i can vouch for them. They delay projects at times because they want to get things right (for instance Fight Club) and because of unforeseen bottlenecks (3D printing and manufacture of TWD accessories). Not too different than Hot Toys when they postpone releases, which they are prone to do, sometimes up to almost a year.
