Yes, you're right. The DID figures are mass produced, but in this case they look better than something that is hand made. And it's not because of the quality of materials and the process of how they made it. But because of the likeness on the headsculpt in question. I'm not arguing that a custom made figure isn't worth 400 dollars or that it should be cheaper to make. I'm saying it doesn't LOOK like a 400 dollars figure to me. Not because of material and process, but the likeness. Following me?
The Iminime prices have always been in the $350-450 range varying slightly from release to release. So this really shouldn't have been such a surprise.

And although in theory your comparison to a DiD release should be valid, it's not because we are talking a mass produced figure (with poorer quality and lower production costs) when compared to a full custom figure which is cast in superior resin (not injection molded) and hand painted.
