What about it? :lolThe Bateman run can got an extended run, shouldn't The Cowboy? I've wanted this thing since the first picture of his forehead went up, and, due to technical difficulties, I didn't get one. Yet, someone who had plenty of time to get a DX Bateman, but didn't, for whatever reason, would be able to have a second chance. At the end of the day, as others have mentioned, it's still a limited run, but everyone who got The Cowboy wouldn't be forced to miss out on the incredible DX sculpt.

it's not possible. because the ogirinal sculpt was gone to the hatted head. meaning not possible to cast more

Wow, just saw the discussion in the Bateman thread. I didn't get that figure, so don't want to muddy the waters by interjecting over there, but I agree with Pop (I think :D ). Making a distinction between Denny and Rainman comes off as arbitrary and a bit self serving to me. If a figure is sold with the understanding that it will be released in a certain way, at a certain edition size, then that should be that IMO. If folks don't like the way things are set up, they should try to wield influence before decisions are made on these issues IMO.

Still, people tried. You know people tried, and there was nothing, so why is it that the Bateman fans are being appeased, even though they made their decisions, and had the opportunity to make them, while those of us who genuinely wanted the cowboy, but missed out, and never even had the opportunity, due to the ridiculous Pre-Order situation, are left with nothing?

Look im neutral here. But I've tried to get Rainman fullsets and failed too. Its the luck of the draw to an extent. Im pretty sure this arguement or discussion or whatever you want to call it has more to do with Denny's accessibilty than with anything else. Denny listens to customes. Posts in the forums. He's got his ear to the ground. Plugged in. Rainman doesn't. In fact rainman's english is so spotty that its hard to have a simple conversation with him let alone a detailed talk about extending fullsets etc.

Having said that, I really don't care. I'm getting my figure. That's all that really matters. In a perfect world everyone else who wants it would get it too. Im no looking to profit from it. The problem is the ridiculous amounts of money being spent on Rainman DX sets is clouding peoples vision. We want to think 'Hey Im buying something I like, BUT it i should ever need to sell it I can selll if $3000 or something crazy!" It's not what this hobby should be about.

But I get it. I remember being miffed when I found out Hot Toys was rereleaseing the Mark 1 and the DX Joker especially since Id just bought the original MK 1 a month before the announcement for like $600.

That second bit is my opinion, as well. We want these characters because we love them, and we love the films that they come from. It seems like people, especially in customs, have become too focused on the "numbers" game, and it clouds the entire point.

Totally off topic but I love it when Hot toys re releases figures with upgrades. I mean If I were Wake and paid the infnflated price then saw the re release of be irate as well,

But in the couple cases I came out ahead.

With Mark 1 I bought it when it first came out then even after the upgrade went for preorder I guess some completionist still wanted my v1 and bought it for 500. So basically I got a better mark 1 for free with an extra 300 bucks to spare,

I never liked DX 01 joker so I was happy about dx11' but i liked the cop so I sold the dx01 without the cop, got about 275 for it which paid for my dx11 and had a but to spare and I still got to keep the cop!

More re releases hot toys!

Agreed. But the limitations are the problem inevitably. When 8-bit initial announced his Michonne Zombie twins I was late and missed out. I lobbied and lobbied at first trying mightily to get onboard. But the run was capped. In a perfect world I would get in on it. Didn't stop me from asking. SO I get it.

Haha, ray think about the people you sold those figures to!

Denny actually did something similar with the upgraded Gordon outfit re-release if I recall, and that created a bit of a stir.

Updated re-releases don't bother me so much, particularly with Hot Toys where it is totally their business model and at this point folks really should expect it.

To batfan's argument--recall that Denny actually did increase the DX edition size for this guy after folks lobbied for it.

Totally man, and as I said I'd be totally pissed if i paid an inflated price and then saw an announcement of a re-release that's the worst, I feel that karma will put me in a spot like that some day.

Those sales were way after the fact and both new versions had been up for preorder some time, im actually shocked I got that much for them. Breaking even or even a bit under I still would have been ecstatic, I guess completionists got to have it all.

batfan08,

You know I am with you on this. What bothers me the most aside from the "in the cart, disappearing at checkout" fiasco, is that I am a VIP member and didn't get the DX. At very least, any VIP member who wanted one, should have been able to get one. Being a VIP member with Rainman, I have had no problem getting any figure. I really didn't think it would be an issue with the Cowboy.

While this release has smaller quanlity - 35 DX & 35 Normal if I remember correctly, compared to 70 for other releases from iminime. Many of us will miss this out anyway :(
