There were more than 35 normal sets.

The normal set and head and outfit were all easy to get.

Wasn't anything "easy" to get with the DX or Regular version. I got the regular and was sweating bullets with my cart emptying. The regular sold out in less than 15 minutes. The DX sold out almost instantly.

With the conversation on re-releases. I feel that once an edition size is set, it is set. Going back and changing after the fact is uncool. It's making collectibles - commodities. I miss out plenty with set edition sizes, but that is what keeps this hobby interesting and evolving to me.

or completely sold out...lol...i hope people are starting to open their eyes that just cause you spend a grand on a figure it doen't necessarily mean its better then the 200-300-400 figure...as we have recently seen...

What bothers me the most aside from the "in the cart, disappearing at checkout" fiasco, is that I am a VIP member and didn't get the DX. At very least, any VIP member who wanted one, should have been able to get one. Being a VIP member with Rainman, I have had no problem getting any figure. I really didn't think it would be an issue with the Cowboy.

I DID get a Cowboy DX (on the second attempt), but the same reasons you stated above are why I'm not renewing my iminime VIP membership. If I have to rely on luck of the draw, even though I am a "VIP", I might as well save $300. :dunno

YUP! :lecture :exactly: :goodpost:

that's a $400 mark up and the figures aren't even a couple months old.

I'd cut the guy a little slack tbh. You can argue that as a starting bid it's a bit cheeky if he hopes to get more but if it was a BIN I think that's about right. Don't forget eBay take 10% of the final selling price and paypal take 3.5%. Those FS's cost just over $1700 for the pair, if he sells them at the $1999.99 starting price he's only making like a $30 profit after eBay and paypal have there fill.

Now if he was trying to sell them on here at that price you could grumble. People always seem to forget eBay IS an expensive place to sell......

meh...to that i say that the prices are dictated by what the seller THINKS he can get for them...versus what it should be worth...i get the time and cost of goods adds up but when spread out over a run of say 30-60 figures, it doesn't make sense why all of the figures should be priced out at close to 900-1000 dollars...the costs should level them out....but there is the added incentive to actually make a profit...hence my only stance that most if not all customizers are in it to make a buck...nothing wrong with that...just know that that model isn't the safest as was proved with Jules...granted there were other factors involvedin that sell aswell....main structure doesn't change tho...

Definitely. That whole ordeal was a mess, but it's of no consequence, now.

I don't want to open the whole debate again because we have like 100 pages of it here, but I'm sticking to my belief that it wasn't all Iminime's site's fault. We all know and spoke about the fact that this happens with numerous different companies of all shapes and sizes. When the stampede tries to force its way into a tiny hole, this is what happens. It happens to Iminime, Rainman... Ticketmaster, Fandango, Nike... and all the other examples mentioned by others when this debate was fresh. High demand, low supply sales done via the internet will always be a game of musical chairs no matter the company.

That's all I'm saying about that because we already did a ton of talking on that subject

But come on broski, aside from all that you know how this game goes! Knowing when to strike when the iron's hot, knowing when to be patient and knowing how to balance the two is how this game is played.

We didn't even receive this guy yet! There's 35 DX's out there; There will definitely be ones up for sale within the first 6 months after shipping. You have a hot commodity with your regular set. There are empty handed folks out there that will be happy to take that off of your hands.

Is it your ideal situation? No. Of course anyone would rather buy and receive their DX straight from Iminime. That's not a reality anymore but you have really good chances for plan B to work. It's just takes patience and playing the waiting game. Do that and I'm sure you'll score your DX :wink1:

Also you never know, post up an occasional reminder here and let people know you're looking to take someone's DX spot before it ships. I'm sure that someone will take you reg. set spot before it ships too.

:exactly:

2.9% PayPal fees for transactions within the states (buyer's bank as to be within the states), 3.9% for international deals. He also has free world wide shipping. I'm sure his mentality is that someone who may want these will come in and place one bid for the starting price; he knows the lack of popularity on these and knows that there's not going to be a bidding war. If he set the starting bid lower someone would come in and swipe them for a steal

Though this is probably true, I can count on one hand the number of Iminime Ra's figures I've seen for sale on the secondary market. There are some figures that folks don't let go of.

it's not possible. because the ogirinal sculpt was gone to the hatted head. meaning not possible to cast more

Denny

Would you be able to create more from the already produced DX casts?

I think, and I repeat I "think" that if Denny wants and of course with the "green light" of the bateman upgrade, he could easily re-create more DX cowboy heads with the existing ones. Again I "think" that shouldn't be a problem for him.

As I said in the bateman thread, Denny at least give the chance to the VIP's to get the DX head. What you say?

Bateman upgrade to my knowledge is not going ahead so its all irrelevant really. It's a real shame I don't wanna see anybody miss out, the more the merrier but it causes way more problems for Denny down the line if he starts making exceptions now this thread is a prime example of that.

Unfortunately with custom stuff like this it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. Denny will get criticized no matter what. Folks will criticize him if he does nothing, or if he does something for all release, or if he does something for only some releases :lol In that sense, I don't know that precedent means anything.

I think what all this shows, like it or not, is that from now on, Iminime will be a wanted product and cannot be taken lightly when considering what and when to order. Items are not going to sit very long and DX items are going to go fast.

people should have more faith on people willing to work out kinks versus giving all their money at once...i've learned that if someone is willing to do right by the people....the people will do right by him...if this release had not fully sold out....i promise it will if it hasn't already...:)

Yeah, I gotcha. I'm still working on securing one, but this was more about my seeing a chance for myself and others, who missed out, to secure one, and I took it, ya know? You can't blame me for trying.:lol I just think that this is such an exemplary release, especially with the DX head, and I was willing to try again. As far as the DX head goes, though. I wonder if people would be okay with it being modded to be the same head, but wearing the "Bounty Hunter" hat in an H&C set, if it ever happened?
